I'd love to see him behind a weaker defence. I really would. No doubt he's a great keeper but he doesn't deserve to be on that list.

Krul has been better this season.

    Oh god.

Al Habsi better than Hart? Mental.

Krul has been top notch this year but so has Hart, and Hart is the better keeper.

I think Hart is indeed the better keeper at this stage. In time with a bit of work I think Krul will be. Krul is a better shot stopper already (the kid is immense) but is let down by his dreadful distribution. His kicking is shocking and he is no where near as comfortable with the ball played back to him. I just think this season, Krul has ahd the bigger impact. I can think of maybe 5 or 6 games where Krul has single handedly won us the points. As noted we have already seen Hart behind poorer defences, the lad is top notch.

I think too much is made of Krul's kicking, it isn't nearly as bad as it's made out to be.

I'd have to disagree AB. I can't watch at times. On several occasions this season he has tried to play out from the back only to kick it straight out for a throw (there was one in a very recent game). I think it is a reason he goes long a bit too often aswell because he is not confident. The thing is, its something which is easily corrected. It simply comes down to good advice and hard work. We have good coaches who will be aware of his issues and I'm sure Van Der Saar would be happy to help his fellow countryman if he picked up the phone. Would be a sensible thing to do because he is the best keeper in the history of football with the ball at his feet. Kicking off either side was surpreme.

Don't get me wrong I don't think any keeper is ever perfect in this regard. Van Der Saar and Hart will all have dropped the odd howler, it comes with the territory. I just think in the modern game, with the style of football we should be looking to play, he'll need to improve a lot. He is not very accurate with his long kicks either and seems to sky a lot of them which is very easy for opposing centre halfs.

Just a matter of opinion but if you see Krul and Rob Elliot warming up before the game starts you'll see Krul can find Elliot in the far penalty area all the time.

Maybe its a composure thing once the game starts. Again I'd get on the phone to Van Der Saar. Sound mentality and a very calm personality. I don't have a massive issue with it, he's only 24 (I think??) Very young in keeping terms. And if all he has to work on is his kicking then he's some boyo. He has it in him to learn too. He had issues with coming for the ball 2 or 3 years ago. He takes pretty much everything now.

Cant believe that noone has said this but.. Danny Simpson?

If Krul has the most clean sheets (Same as Hart) then surely Danny Simpson who has played every game has aswell? Plus he has made countless goal line clearances which have saved games at times (Man U).

You Player of the year id say!

This. He has his off days where his kicking is awful, but his kicking all round isn't bad.

Some of his kicks have played parts in a goal. He can get them into the oppositions box ffs.

His kicking isn't ****. It's quite good, definitely not one of the best in the league.

I'm not quite sure what that has to do with a keepers kicking and footwork being good?

Whatever, the point is, his kicking isn't bad. It's just not as good as some in this league.

I think it requires work and is poor but as I say its hardly the end of the world. He is good hands at club and international level. He is already one of the best keepers in the PL and potentially could be one of the best in the game at present. Personal opinion but I think he has it all. I just think if you watch someone like Hart with ball, he is very comfortable. He can pass it out from the back like a PL defender and is very accurate with his long kicks. He also has pushed this on like Van Der Saar did by being able to hit different kinds of kicks e.g. flat ones, lobbed ones, pacy ones etc etc. I have no doubt Krul will get there, he just needs time. We all forget this is his first full PL season!

He's had a world class defence in front of him man. A one legged gimp could look good behind their back four.
