They're clearly both at fault, though I get the impression that the Council would be much more willing to be flexible than Allam, who is steadfast in this stubbornness. Doesn't matter what any of us think, sadly. Neither of them care at all. I hate them all equally.
I don't see why everyone wants to build on the park, the park should be kept, it makes the stadium very iconic. What should be build on is Walton street car park and that wasteland over the bridge.
She was a Councillor, then she stopped being a Councillor and now she's a mayor, most mayors are ex-Councillors and it's all academic, as it's the title he's snubbed, more than the person.
So she did get the gig because she is an ex-councillor Then. Thought so. So who get's to vote on who is Mayor?
whooooaaah !! dont dig around , its not gonna win you friends on this thread the role is absolutely political , better still you dont get a say in who it is or their consort/cohort
Exactly. She is a former politician who quit being a politician. She then got to be Mayor BECAUSE she is a former politician which was voted for by politicians. Yet shes not a politician and the position of Mayor isn't political at all apparently
Honestly, I was far happier being represented by the players, Steve Bruce and the Allams. The fans also did us proud. Was a grand day. The City was represented outside by things of much greater use and interest than the Mayor, including the white phone boxes plus all the other COC stuff. I just did a completely scientific poll and zero people gave a single **** about the Mayor. Or the fact she wasn't there.
Just lost her seat in the Avenues to Labour. Simone Butterworth should represent the Simone Butterworth Party because it's all she has ever been interested in. To have her name on the plaque at the KC Stadium is a disgrace. Patrick Doyle was the man behind the KC Stadium yet because Butterworth was Council Leader at the time she was at the opening ceremony and accepted all the bouquets and praise.
Well that's not strictly true. Some of her councillor mates who are gobby but not brave enough to let us know who they are were rather vexed by the whole issue.
There is a long list of traditions that are wrong and greasing the fat neck councillors & THEIR representatives (the mayor in our case) is one of them . Backhanders , freebies kickbacks and brown envelopes (even if it only contains Cup final tickets) are wrong , if the position of the Mayor is so important to the FA CUP tradition , the FA should have invited her to their group of skimmers instead . Maybe the reason the FA dont give her an invite is they ran out of room in the murky puddle of dignitaries .
Doesn't bother me one bit the lord mayor never got an invite. BUT. its was fantastic that the young boy with the life threatening illness got to lead the team out as mascot. He's more important then the bloody mayor . Great stuff
You too can go back and read the OP, the quote from club secretary Matt Wild, in other word's it's the done thing
Yeah well done. It's the done thing, that our club chose to not do. Not all "traditions" are worth keeping, and this is definitely one that should be consigned to the scrapheap of politicos being rewarded for fook all. if she was such a big fan and wanted to be there, she would have been.
Can you explain the difference between political perks of the job and part of the job. It's the done thing, go read club secretary Matt Wild quote in the OP
