Poor show but frankly we wont miss the two sent off as we have plenty of players. of a similar quality. Buying Maddison instead of Grigg might have been a good idea in hindsight.
Very poor by all accounts and two red cards not good. McLaughlin should have done better for the first goal, haven't seen the other two. Big bump coming crashing down to earth there.
Roker Report player ratings Jon McLaughlin: 5/10 As good as Marcus Maddison’s free kick was, a goalkeeper not moving for a free kick from upwards of 30 yards that wasn’t even in the corner is a horrible look. Luke O’Nien: 3/10 One of the few Sunderland players who tried to be positive and tried to create goalscoring opportunities from minute one, unfortunately his final ball was often overhit. O’Nien was also caught out for Posh’s second. The red card was a joke, but topped off a poor afternoon for our makeshift defender. Jordan Willis: 5/10 Poor in possession, struggled at times when Peterborough went direct too. Alim Ozturk: 5/10 Couldn’t deal with Toney’s physicality went some way to making up for it with some decent last ditch defending, his performance dipped as the game got more open in the second half. Conor McLaughlin: 5/10 An improvement on his other performances at left back, still struggled at times both offensively and defensively out of position. Lynden Gooch: 5/10 Managed a few enterprising runs, but his decision-making remains infuriatingly suspect. Grant Leadbitter: 7/10 The one Sunderland player who looked showed composure and attacking intent all match. Max Power: 5/10 Mixed bag again, played some of Sunderland’s smartest passes, but was also guilty of making some terrible challenges and completing poor giveaways in his own half. Aiden McGeady: 4/10 One of his worst games under Jack Ross, continuously gave away the ball, quite often in dangerous areas. Marc McNulty: 5/10 Looked sharp when he got on the ball, unfortunately he barely had a kick all match. Charlie Wyke: 4/10 Won an incredible amount of free kicks, but cancelled out all of his good work by picking up the world’s dumbest red card. (SUB) Will Grigg : 5/10 Came on when the game was practically lost, didn’t make an impact. (SUB) Tom Flanagan : 6/10 Somehow we didn’t concede again after his introduction. (SUB) George Dobson : 6/10 Hardly got a touch, after being brought on to help out his eight remaining teammates. Man of the Match: Grant Leadbitter
OMG what a **** show. Paper and cracks spring to mind. We need to change the driver, and, fit some new spare parts.
Do not know a lot about the game, was out... but we shipped 3 goals and had 2 sent off... sounds very poor...personally would have taken a win today rather than Wednesday
Someone described it like Portsmouth away last season - if that's that case I'm sure we'll get over it.
It happens. I said pre game it was tough and I won’t be having a meltdown after one **** result after 5 wins. We move on.
Ipswich and Peterboro to go up and guess what for us, we need them owners to come in for some good news before the next 2 weeks, because we need about 6 quality players in as these will cave in, where where the new players ? and please don't bring players like Flannagan back cos he had a decent game, and that is the other thing these cup runs are a waste of time they are costing us. We have had a load of luck in the last 5 matches with mistakes by opposing defenders etc.
No we haven’t you absolute bellend. We have dominated stats in those games, you’re a ****ing whoppa lad, we aren’t Man City. You’re a million miles from a supporter. We’ve lost an away game to one of the best sides in the league. It happens. Pointless prick.
