I haven't checked, and I'm not going to, but I think that Catts was injured during that period, too, Dan, and we didn't half miss him :emoticon-0101-sadsm . . . . it's his fault :cheesy:

I don't know that it's a case of blaming Ross, just recognising that he carries part of the responsibility for any failings this season. Like you say though, there are very few failings. The combination of factors that you mention above means that we've never completely clicked into gear. No one associated with the first team should be above criticism for that. In the same, no one associated with the first team should be left out of the plaudits for having achieved what has been achieved this season.

Its strange , we are still in with a great chance of promotion and been to Wembley, glass is still half full fr me, we should save any post mortem until the end of the season , for now be positive and get behind the Lads.

Strangely I think it's because we've had such a good season that people are being so critical.

If we'd had steady progression under Ross rather than the (relativel) instant turn around in fortunes people would be more than happy with where we are now. The more success we have the more we expect.

Another thing is that it would have been better if Monday's game had been 0-0 . . . . we'd have been disappointed, but we'd have accepted it :emoticon-0112-wonde

It's because we scored near the end, making us feel fantastic, then Peter equalising that's actually made us feel rotten :emoticon-0101-sadsm

Life as a Sunderland fan, eh :cheesy:

I hope the players don’t suffer psychologically. If it were me , I’d be thinking 2 points gone in added time (after the ref poss denying us a valid goal and a poss penalty) , whilst a few days ago Pompey gain 2 added time points ( courtesy of the ref giving a debatable goal) . I’m sure it’s not in their minds , or JR has removed such thoughts , but it could be a mental exhaustion rather than a physical one which lets us down in the last straight
Probably irrelevant as you just can’t see Barnsley letting up.

When you watch the goal we are pretty ****e, but we are ****e through the middle, Ross is the man who signed Dunne, Ozturk and Loovrens,
Flanagan and Baldwin..........think he underestimated this league. He'll get it right now.

We're ****e through the middle though cos the defence isn't getting the support/protection it would get from a five-man midfield.

And thats why we draw too many, Catch 22 , 5 man midfield we are toothless up top. Our midfield are slow, our defence are slow, and Grigg and Wyke are slow...

Thing is that people (outside of SAFC) thought we'd done very well getting Baldwin in. I don't think he's that bad a defender - just having a bit of a dip in form (much like our "talisman" centre forward Grigg)!! Form is one thing you can't fake! De Gea is a great keeper in bad form - Baldwin is a decent league 1 defender in poor form. Him and Flanaghan looked pretty good earlier in the season.

We need to allow a poor kid a chance of making mistakes. We won't be flying today has it not for those two brothers that I forgot their names. And it is only a game btw.
