Reebs I remember this fella running against Dessie towards the end of his career. He won the Peterborough Chase in 1991 beating Nortons Coin 4L. I think the 1983 Peterborough may have been a little early for him? The clip you added seems to be the 1983 Sun Alliance novices hurdle?

Really nice to hear his name again though, a great credit to Pipe / Scudamore and he won some very decent races in his time.

A blast from the past...I'm remember sneaking off school to watch that.

Some familiar names in behind such as West Tip (Ritz Club and GN winner),Lettoch (probobly beat remembered for being involved in the three horse photo for the Whitbread),Ballinacurra Lad (winner of the equivalent of the Embassey Premier Series Final) and Papa's Buskins who won many good staying 'chases.

Anyone remember any of the other "also rans" and their subsequent exploits?

<cheers> Reebs.

Probably best known was West Tip who went on to National fame.

Apologies again about the misleading title.

Oddy is correct - he won the Peterborough at 12 years of age.

Reebok - thanks for putting this up, not that I doubt the accurcy of this at all but I can't believe Sabin Du Loi ran in the 1983 RSA Hurdle when he went off a very short price favourite in the mud lovers 1987 Arkle (I think).
If memory serves me right he was 11/10 or shorter and was hammered by Waterloo Boy - so it would be very rare for a horse to have 4 years hurdling then transfer to fences.
Of course this is all memory so could be completely wrong....
