A tight and scrappy game, which we should and would have won but for an abysmal penalty from Karlan Grant. Walking back to the station we have heard that he is going. Good. Bowyer got his tactics wrong today. We improved when RHF came on late and we went two up top. It’s too late now, but in a 4-5-1 Grant is less use than a one legged man in an arse kicking contest. He lacks any of the attributes needed in a lone striker. Roared on by 2,500 plus fans , we were not great today in truth. Very good was Sarr (MOM), followed by Bielik, Cullen and Reeves. We badly missed Lyle Taylor ad today showed that our season will hit the Belgian buffers now if striking reinforcements are not brought in ASAP. Our support today was outstanding.
Richard Cawley has said that Charlton are trying to bring in two strikers one on loan and one permanent.
3 wins in 13 league games for them I think (something like that anyway) They'll lose touch with the top 6 if they can't turn that around.
If this is correct it must mean that either Grant or Taylor is going before the end of January. Presumably not both of them, though with RD anything's possible.
It was the atmosphere in the station , this is definitely the best time to be a charlton fan never known such unity, gets me wet as a summers day in Manchester
The 5.35 back to Kings Cross was packed with Charlton fans. When we got off, a cracking rendition of the new "Allez Allez Allez" song started, and continued for a solid 20 mins from the platform at Kings Cross, through the tube station, onto the platform, and then onto London Bridge tube...where it continued. (@lardiman look away now). The Tube in particular was absolutely rocking (literally) and tourists looked startled as you can imagine the noise in an enclosed Tube with our drummer also working his magic. There are a number of videos on You Tube and Twitter of the procession - if you look carefully, you can see a certain Moderator's svelte figure A great end to a good day out
