Guys Cardiff fan in Peace. The only way you will get Whittingham is to bust the wages allowed by your restrictions. He has 2 years remaining on his current contract, Norwich and Leicester supposedly interested in him also. I would therefore see you third in the pecking order. £1.5 Mill is cheap and the board would not sell for that amount. We are just about to sign Goodwillie (unfortunate name considering the crimes he is accused of) from Dundee and i would see Whittingham as an integral part of our team next year, Bellamy will also be back before the season starts and once again we will be a top six club, so to sell Whittingham for that kind of money would really hack the fans off, unless we are in for someone better than Whittingham, but can anyone suggest to me who that could be at this level. Exactly !
I think its probably best if you get off your high horse. Numerous times we have said this is a rumour and no more than press speak at present! The way you have come on here and belittled our great club is either out of jealousy or it smells of Wummery! Why wouldn't Peter Whittingham join us? - you seem to have a lot of theories, but no fact. I will be the first to remind you of this post IF we sign him!
I think Whittingham will leave Cardiff but think he will go to Leicester instead of us, just got a hunch, you never know though, would love to see him here. As for Cardiff i think they are going to struggle next season, they have lost most of there good players, and ok Goodwillie is good in the SPL but can't see him doing well in the Championship, players seem to struggle when moving from SPL to the Championship, just ask Middlesbrough fans. At 12/1 for Cardiff to go down, i think its worth a bet.
It appears CCFC are in denial regarding Whittinghams future - it looks like he will leave no for a bid of around £1.5m/£2m. Anyone think they need the money?
I reckon they took a massive gamble last season, spending above their means (Bellamy's wages an example) knowing that they needed to get promotion for the money. Obviously they didn't get promotion and i think they are panicking a bit, struggling for money, and they have had to offload their best players in order to survive. Just my take on it anyway.
Its a good shout - expect the same from West Ham, Birmingham and Leicester next summer then if they all fail with their promotion bids!
Well well Mike You posted on our board and on the whole got some good replies, but it appears you have double standard whilst back on your board. You sir are a Plum. I was not Wumming but we get these rumours wrt Whitts year in year out. See you all in August.
What has Mike done? All I've seen him post here is decent analysis and some very valid points. 12/1 does sound good, especially in this league where everyone is in danger of going down. The whole 'promotion or bust' theory has it's merits as well.
Blimey, why is isawronnymoorescore so wound up ? He should be more worried about the exodus of so many of their top players - Bothroyd, Chopra, Burke, etc.
