You always play better when you play against better teams , as a player . 4 years ago who thought guys like Taylor , Dyer , Monk , Gower , Jazz , Allen , Rangel , Britton would play a major part in not only getting the Swans to the Premier , but keeping them there for another season . I'd take Whittingham for a few season's , as I'm sure other Premier teams would . How much he plays might be an issue for him though .
Cracker- It begs the question,if your theory is true then why didnt he raise his game in any of the last 4 play-off failiures or micky mouse cup competitions ?? Average player, yes could end up in the premier league, but as ive always used this toshack qoute in the past i will use it again"there are premiership players, and there are players that play in the premiership" guess which catagory Witts would fit into?
I want to say he was tired actually getting them to the playoffs , wasn't getting much help in the January transfers & he led the team the last 3 seasons in League starts . Great passer from what I could see , be it on the tube . Lot of respect from me for Whittingham , I'd take a chance on him , besides we don't have playoffs anymore lol !!
No need to apologise fella. This is a debating forum and we're entitled to differing opinions, and it's good to have a reasoned chat on here. It's difficult to argue against the gut feelings you are having about Whitts and I can only say what I feel myself after meeting the guy once or twice. That said, it doesn't make me an expert on the guys character. As far as bids are concerned, and I may have this wrong, but I believe bids came from Norwich and West Brom recently, and further back, Forest placed a few bids.
