You need someone who is articulate, insightful and coherent. Which rules out just about everybody. I've said it before, the best Swanny has is something along the lines of "get stuck in". Genius. He's not infuriating, just disappointing and boring.
it was charlton away Deano commentated on just before xmas, sad how i remember that without google or anything isnt it, welcome to my life.
I see Hull legends Nick Barmby,Johnny Whiteley and Dean Windass are all on Tuesday's Burnsy Show to talk about Luke Campbell. I wonder if Nick will be as chatty with Burnsy as that time he was whilst still our manager? Can't see Burnsy not having a dig around. I don't mind Burnsy, but Swan is just an annoying twat. Should replace him with Deano.
Wasn't that the match where it all kicked off between Lloyd Sam and Ashbee? I remember that one well...
I always thought those two were OK and enjoyed the banter but since following Swanny on twitter I have just gone off him. I know it sounds stupid but when everyone else was talking about the Olympics and some of the brilliant performances he just totally ignored everything about it and went on about golf. I know it might sound unreasonable to some people as a reason to suddenly dislike someone but thats how it made me feel.
Any radio station who are happy to employ a talentless prat like Gwilym Lloyd are hardly going to worry about a bloke just because he starts every sentence with 'like I say' and talks about pies every game.
I just watched the interview on Tiger player which Burnsey did with SB after the Rotherham match, and he said to SB that Chester is the best centre back he has seen at city in the passed 20 years.
I have, though as I've stopped listening, it's rather hard for me to highlight the daft things they come up with and I could comment on Gwylim's blunders, as he was making my ears bleed.
I like listening to Burnsy, can't stand Swanny and Gollum. Burnsy had a good dig against the council yesterday on his show.... Someone phoned in regarding building a Sports Village near the Humber Bridge because of the lack of sports facilities in the city, especially a 50 metre Olympic size swimming pool. Burnsy came up with 2 points, 1) Wouldn't it be good if we had a large screen in Victoria Square that could show the Luke Campbell fight while he was being introduced to the crowd. 2) Wouldn't it be a good idea if some people could get together and create a Sports Village at the KC Stadium. He'll probably have to come out and apologise for those remarks later.
that was the home one i think, another sad fact for you it was near hull fair because i got a parking ticket and decided it was definately hull fairs fault. this one was at the valley that deano commented on.
Home match - lost 1-2, big scrap, Steve Mcphee scored (fact) and Danny Mills acted like a tool. Away match - drew 1-1, Danny Mills acted like a tool and Deano called him just that in the commentary.
Swanny - a true Hull legend - your record signing (at the time) and a goal machine (more than a goal every four games). How dare you slag the fat lad off!!! Came from Leeds to educate you sad tiggers and still trying (bless him!)
We'll slag him because instead of educating us about the football he's watching and doing a radio commentary for he educates us about the pie he's eating. It's a sports show not bloody Masterchef.
No no no. Steve McPhee definitely didn't score and I think we lost 1-0. Hughes had a goal disallowed for us because Deano was alleged to have fouled the keeper (it was the other way round in reality, but keepers can do what they like) and then Luke Varney scored for them despite putting Myhill on his arse in the process, which of course was perfectly legitimate. We also had 10 men and the ref was Anthony Taylor, I remember it well because I had a deep dislike for him for some time afterwards and it was a debate about that game and refereeing debacle which led me to join the old 606. You're right about the second game though. EDIT: Turns out everything you put was right
You must have left early. http://stats.football.co.uk/matchce...rlton_athletic/02_oct_2007/332202/index.shtml
I didn't leave early no, I never do. Now you've both mentioned it I remember them scoring a 2nd but wasn't it that Chinese bloke Zheng Zhi? I still don't remember the McPhee bit. I only ever remember him scoring against Cardiff at home.
