No he’s not dead, but I was just reading about him, and thought God bless him....for the sliding tackle!
With the passing of Jimmy McInch, I remember the Scottish contingent that flooded into Cardiff City. Every season the full team played the reserves in a season opener “friendly”. I remember Jim Upton a full back again ginger and fiery, breaking two legs in the game...one I think was Alan Harrington, and maybe Steve Gammon...a disaster for city and the players. Here Peter Rodrigues reminds us:
When I joined Cardiff City, they had just been relegated. I played in the reserves at a young age, but once, in a public trial match, I wasn’t picked for the reserves. In the first half, a young reserve, a Scottish full-back, broke his leg. Then in the second half the other reserve full-back broke his leg!
I suspect a few of the older members of the forum will remember this game....watch BT go!
