I don't recall the rule book asking for your opinion or bothering about whether you like a poster or not oldnicky. If you think I'm a know it all then fine by me. Technically you are a WUM on this board so if you don't like the posts then you know where the ignore button is or you could just stick to Stoke's.

It's wrong to judge somebody on what they might or might not have done if circumstances were different.

The fact of the matter is that Reid did NOT have access to cash and/or a credible, non embargoed club when it mattered - during the transfer windows. Under those circumstances, he can't be held responsible for other people's bad transfer dealings.

If anyone watched Brighton v Liverpool the other night they'd have seen Noone as a very clear MoM, giving Carragher & co quite a run around and Barnes come on as top scorer substitute and put away a penalty. Then there's Wright-Philips with 7 goals already at top-of-League 1 Charlton. I know this is ancient news but it's a bit rich to criticise Reid for a threadbare squad.

He has had a somewhat chequered career in management but he's certainly a big name, a big profile and a big personality - for us at least. Maybe that doesn't cut the mustard in the higher leagues but I'd like to think it would have helped attract players to League 1 or League 2 if other factors hadn't intruded. A club isn't about one man and with some cash to put a team of good coaches in around him, things might have been quite different.

I agree with Distant, the guy was not given anything to work with and I think the players have more to blame than Reid himself. You can only motivate those who will be motivated.

Once Noone and BWP - the key performers - had gone the team seemed to falter, going into admin spurred a few good games (we recouped 9pts if I remember correctly) but I think most players just wanted out. Fallon particularly seemed fed up, he was really hoping to get a deal at Ipswich in January.
For the most part all we needed to get was 9pts from the last five, we got 6 but then after Excreta beat us 1-0 they lost heart.

I think given the financial crisis of last season that Reid did his best, I would also point out that if he had had Mourinho or Fergie as manager they would have buggered off when we went into Admin no question.
Reid will be considered a hero for sticking it out and making the best of a bad situation.

Good luck to Reid in future, where ever he ends up.

There you go again Sensible, rule books etc, too many years as a jobsworth in some local government institution and it's not a matter of like or dislike as I don't know you.

However from reading your posts over 3 years, I know your type and you tick ALL of the boxes.

Anyway, what is a “tecnhical WUM“ - I think you will find that I have said nothing detrimental against Argyle, quite the contrary, the only people I have had a go at were DS/NavyDiver and the various guises of matey boy from Stevenage.

I'm not having a go at you either, just in old Navy slang, reading you your comic cuts.

Happy Birthday for Argyle tomorrow with a nice present of 3 points

Argyle had faltered badly when Noone and BWP were playing before Christmas 2010..........Fallon would have been fed-up anyrate he had forgotten what a forewards main function was ..........goalscoring.

The team didn't function between Aug/Dec 2010..........thats when the rot had set in and nothing was done about it...........minus 10 pts should have been overcome.

Not having a go oldnickb????? I think comments like "know it all" is somewhat uncomplimentary so excuse me for thinking you just might be having a go as you put it. When I need a school report on my progress or lack of it then I promise you will be the first person I come to. Having had a pop at a few on hear previously in your own quaint little way when you aren't even a supporter of Argyle in my opinion of course qualifies as a semi WUM in my book. You have your little digs when you feel like it but please feel free to give me the benefit of your experience and wisdom on chat boards anytime you wish. I will then choose to ignore you completely when you do. Anything else you want to give an opinion on then also feel free.

Those that visit other sites should treat it's members with respect.......and act in a friendly way.........if your looking for hassle do it on your own site.

We can hassle to the cows come home amongst ourselves because .........we have been hassled and abused by the best/worse in the last nine months going through administration.

Can't do symbols but the peace dove seems appropriate and is reciprocated. Quaint isn't a bad thing.
