If we get the four mentioned in this thread then we are going to have a cracking team. Certainly exciting and a team who can play football. Wish this Asia tournament would hurry up so I can see what the rest are like. :)

Fingers crossed these come off.

Him and Giaccherini will probably be unveiled tomorrow

If so, that will be a massive day for SAFC, and a true signal of intent. Might even help us with some other targets who might be um-ing and ahh-ing about aswell

My thoughts exactly. Giaccherini alone could help massively with any potential siginings. Peruzzi, although somewhat of an unknown quantity, based on reports on him could finally solve our rb problems. And if we sign Rose it would solve our FULL-BACK problems

Who next ? Suarez!, Rooney! we could be getting an average of 47,000 again next season just like the old days. The way things are going, and that extension may be needed next summer I hope. But I won't get carried away yet until we win the Hong kong tournament in 17 days time!.
And by the way Peruzzi kept Neymar (Brazil) quiet in a match recently.

Hahaha.

Sunderland are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season and it looks as if a defensive signing could be imminent. Velez Sarsfield have released a statement revealing that Gino Peruzzi is set to make the move to the Black Cats, with the full-back now travelling to England with cub officials to complete the transfer.

Get the lad over here quick while its hot he might think its the norm :)

1 more striker please!!! & would look like the package, all needs to come together pre-season and top half is on!!!

Do we need another striker though? Unless Graham goes but I think Ji/Wickham/Altidore/Fletcher is more than enough for the season ahead.

Left back & a creative midfielder is what we need.

I can see PDC wanting another striker.. I think connor will be gone if not permanently then on loan and I don't see graham fitting with PDC's playing style. I reckon we might see a pacy tricky striker coming in and i've said it in another post the damiao rumours just might have some legs. We have quietly stashed away a canny few quid over the last few seasons and we've cut some deadwood from the wage budget so theres cash there to play with. Whatever happens from here till 11pm on the 1st september its gonna be exciting

What we need more than anything is a striker pairing - a good striker is fantastic, but you can only go so far with that. To make up the amount of ground that we should be looking to, we need another Quinn and Phillips, only then can we start making serious progress.
