I don't doubt for a second that was the likely scenario but there was still easy (or so they thought) cash in it for them. £10k and a wee trip to Peru, why the hell not they probably thought. I feel sorry for their parents but I have little in the way of sympathy for the girls themselves. It's an age old story as we know, they are not the first to be stupid enough to try something like this and they won't be the last - despite the obvious risks.
Dev you shouldn't be so quick to judge, wait until the police have carried out their investigation. The funny thing is everyone was posting about the wee bird Michaella Connolly on facebook, trying to raise awareness of her her vanishing act a fews weeks ago. Everyone thinking the worst and there she is in Peru on a nice wee holiday. An old school friend of mine done time in Columbia for smuggling but was able to bribe his way to freedom, if these wee birds know the right people I'm sure they can make it out of there.
