I'm losing track of this. We started on Evans and have been through Ghilas, Altidore, Hitler,Eilhoff, Halmosi, Elvis and Adams!!!

On the off chance that I'm still with the plot can I say he did well in Germany, swept the board in Poland and France, and was highly regarded in Austria. However against stubborn Russian defences he struggled and frankly he was out of his league against England.

And his last action was suicidal.

Ghilas has a mythical status amongst some fans, despite having only scored one goal and done naff all else- this Ghilas worship is similar to Bullard worshipers who think we would be world beaters if he played, never happened and never will. Great news about Corry Evans if true, and as a Germanophile I'd like to see a Deutschlander play for City.

Ghilas is playing in a poor team at the moment, scored 1 in 9 so far for Arles-Avignon, they'll go down, he's starting today up front vs Monaco.

I hope we haven't signed him, today's performance was worst than anything harps has served up! He and Koren looked knackered, uninterested and millwalls midfield made evans look like league 1 stuff

Just a bit of a guess but Ghilas played 13 games for us and then was suddenly dropped, from the face of the earth. Anybody not think that maybe he had a clause that meant we owed Celta Vigo more money after x apperances or owed Ghilas a wage hike after so many apperances? Just a guess but knowing Duffen's excellent negotiation skills and the way Ghilas dissapeared despite not playing badly, or anywhere near bad enough to never be seen again, and never to even be considered by any of our other managers it does make you think...

I hear that Cairney was pulled from the squad due to an illness.

Nobody would criticise Harper if he'd had a good game at least once before yesterday.

Taking away the fact that he is Jonny's brother and he is at Man Utd - what you are left with IMO is a very average solid little defensive midfielder who neither dominates or creates. Instead of watching Herper's every kick hoping for a mistake, fans should watch Evans as he doesn't really do enough.
If we are spending part of our summer budget on him and therefore not bringing in what we really need in this position then I will be gutted as it will be a huge mistake.
    I think we really need:
    Keeper.
Left back (to challenge with Dawson)
    Winger.
    Two central midfielders.
Centre forward. (to play with Matty).

at last people are starting to see the light re Evans, youve also got it sot on as regards positions that need filling, the winger being right sided imho;]

How much do you think we will have to pay for Evans considering that his deal is up in June? £50k maybe??

I take it between now and January Man Utd have deemed him not good enough then? Agreed he's pretty average.

Evans could be being signed as a centre half (he can play there, and presumably did with Chester in Man U reserves) with a view to Gerrard not signing, and then Danns will come in and replace him in the midfield?

i would like to think that evans will be used as a backup next season, and that we'll bring in a better central midfielder with Danns or someone else. with a few others leaving the club this summer we'll have a fairly small squad. so dont automatically think that evans is being signed to be first choice.
