I knew you would see the light! How awesome would it be ( very hopeful and a bit euphoric) for Alonso to come back and help us win a PL title? Would be outstanding.
I actually think Henderson will improve too. I still think he'd be a worthwhile signing who would play a part in the big games and help the youngsters improve and help them make the step up to the big games as opposed to throwing them in the deep end. Remember if we qualify for the CL, Gerrard will be rested oftenly because of his age, one or two injuries and our squad may look a little thin. Although Sahin and Allen could quite easily fill in at CDM, they also have roles in the other two CM spots. Knew you'd come round I'd like to think this season, he'd help us get a CL place, and next season, providing the new players settle in well and the players improve, we could push a little further in all competitions.
If we signed Dempsey, Sturridge and Alonso, and if we kept Carroll, top four surely would have been in our sights?
