I actually think McClaren just sees some issues. Like at Man U, his deliveries were poor and some of his overall play was befitting of a young man learning. What Steve has done is put our very best player (Gini) in his best position; that means 'sacrificing' Perez, but he's still chosen over a specialist left winger (Thauvin). I don't think he hates him, it's just about adjusting a formation to suit. He can't play sole striker, he's not our best number 10, where else does he play?
We are still struggling from weird recruitment, but finally starting to buy to strengthen the team as well as the bank balance. It's ok to have Perez learn his trade from the bench. Lingaard had to, Kane had to, Danny Rose, Ross Barklay, none played every match for years.
Its crying out for Aarons now in my opinion. If some how we can keep him fit, with him wide and Gini inside, I think you have a potent mix. Then you have Sissoko who frustrates the hell out of me but has ability. Get Austin in, and he will bury the chances Aarons and Gini would create. Then you just need to sort the defence. All this buying loads of midfielders is strange but I suppose if Tiote is forcing a move you have to get people in.
Its not a big problem with Perez, you have to be adaptable now. I agree tough its a needs must situation at present because of Thauvin. I'll say though I think Perez blows hot and cold like any young lad. He has had some stinkers. Even in his favoured position. Him and Mitro should be backing up the main strikers given their age.
Perez needs a rest lads. He looks knackered.
Let's all hope Aarons is actually good if we are pinning our hopes on him for the second half of the season, because we've seen practically **** all of him to make that judgement.
Get Colback and Anita out of the team for better players on a regular basis or the rest of the season and I think that could be enough to keep us up. Maybe that is McLaren/Carr's thinking. I think Perez has played his way out of the team for the time being.
