well, he's a big improvement on Iheanacho, who cost Leicester around £25m a couple of years ago (well done Sullivan and Bilic for avoiding that disaster). I don't think I'd complain if we sold a player of his standard for £30m, he's not good enough for a team that has the aspirations your fans have, which puzzles me as to why some are angry about his leaving, if you do get sold all he would be is a player taking up a squad place.
Problem is he won't be replaced - the £30m will be spread over 5 years so we will see £6m of that if we are lucky this year. No one would mind if we went out an bought a player who would replace him but we will look in the bargain basement and probably end up with someone similar stature to Atsu or Murphy coming into replace him and not get close to the 10-13 goals he scored over the last 2 seasons. With him and Rondon off we have lost over 50% of our goals from last season and we scored the 5th least - without Rondon and Perez we would have scored less than the 22 Huddersfield scored and almost certainly been relegated.
Its a good move for Perez I reckon. They sit in that no mans land between those battling relegations, and those looking down on the rest. Everton, Burnley seem to be the others in that bracket. Never able to break the cartel (bar one random wonderful season), but at least they are ****ing trying. He is not good enough for the top bracket obviously at present, so he has pitched himself as high as he can. He will enjoy it more for sure but he'll have nowhere to hide now to. He can't hide behind Newcastle being poor and having poor players or Rafa's defensive style. It will come down to whether he is capable of delivering. I'd prefer to have kept him in our situation but if I thought for a second we'd fully reinvest the money or be taken over, I'd sell him for 30m all week long and twice on a Sunday. He's had fantastic support from our fans given his behaviour on the pitch at times has been nothing short of pathetic. I don't think he is as weak as it seems, I think he's just a complete and utter pussy. I also won't miss when he fannies on with the ball and gets caught in possession. That's cost us dearly at times. Rafa was at least calling him out on these things in the press and you assume in training. If Rodgers can get him to understand it actually makes him a ****ter player, he can still progress further. All round it would not be a bad move for all concerned given Leicester can afford to overpay if we'd reinvest. We won't so its a terrible move for us.
True. A lot of fans gave him dogs abuse. They were quiet when he went on his form spree though. Don't blame him one bit. Good luck to him and Leicester. They have a good player... we have sackload of cash not to spend.
Mbappe has already said he won't come if he's being partnered with Rondon. Plus Arteta doesn't think he suits his Chucklebrother Football. Also known as Geordie Tika Taka (to me to you to me to you). So in short no.
See this is more positive. I can get behind this. Solutions not more complaining or questions. We’ve seen centre half’s made into forwards successfully before. John Charles...er...Dion Dublin, Paul Warhurst, Chris Sutton. I’m schar he could do the job.
