Firstly, Loved the win, and AP's tactics were incredibly spot-on. Even had time to bring on Perchy, Sammy and Gossy.

Now, onto Perch...Bloody fook...didn't his first tackle of the game warrant a RED. It was a stone wall Red Card for me, lifted himself off the ground...Would;ve been the shortest appearance in history.. But credit to him after that mistake he battled well... Still think he should only be a bit-part role player at best.

Thoughts ?

Genuinely beginning to pity the lad. Its fairly clear Pardew had told him "Penchinho, they're getting very physical and Cabaye is getting pushed around too much, go get yourself stuck in."

He clearly wanted to impress the fans and then...THAT!!! All the same, credit where it is due, he kept it tight after that and put in a cracking tackle on Kenny Jones down the left wing!

This. Don't think you can question his effort. Just isn't a very good footballer.

Solid strong .. manic tackle. Could have been red on another day, maybe he got something of the ball, it was two footed and it was high. If the other guy had stayed down i think red might have appeared. We need him at the minute though. He's kind of the utility guy. Actually Gosling should be filling that role but Gosling looks awfully unfit. He just put on so much weight during his injury.

It was a straight red.

He is a liability.

He will cost us points if he plays.

How many games have we actually won when he has started a game.....

haha...yea thankfully on the day Perchinho did not get that red. All's well that ends well I guess.. A good runout given to him by Pardew as well, now we can chuck him aside until further notice hopefully..

Really? I thought it wasn't even a yellow. One footed, got the ball and it was a totally 50/50 challenge. I understood why the yellow was given though as he did come off the ground

I haven't seen the tackle since it happened, but my instant thought was yellow - not red.

As people have said, he tries, but he just isn't a very good footballer. It's as simple as that. Championship standard. To be honest, I'm shocked that we, a PL team sitting on 3rd place, are bringing on Championship players.

Was lucky to stay on the field for the first chanllenge but was only given a yellow, there was another near the end where I thought he might get another yellow and be off. He's a clown, why Pardew didn't bring on Gosling for Cabaye is beyond me.

This is what i thought, it looked worse cause of the other players position.
