Agree. I wouldn't want to see Suarez go. My point in these arguments is purely from a financial perspective, I never want to see our best players leave but sometimes you get an offer that you simply cannot refuse.
Bottom line is - if players want to move on you can't stop them (contract clauses excepted). Not many players stay with one club their whole career and most who do are local lads. We know that Suarez won't be with us for ever it's just a matter when he goes not if he goes. He seems to have some loyalty about him but after the Torres affair I'm not placing too much faith in players 'doing the right thing' (that's another debate!!)
That, much like loyalty, is a two way street. The player may want to stay but the club want rid whether it be for quality or financial reasons
I wasn't thinking of anyone but that's a good example, he 100% wanted to stay but the club (BR) didn't want him. Rafa did it with Alonso too but for a combination of quality / finance.
I think we should pick spomebody with the required gravitas (somebody like saint) and send them round to Pep's gaff to tall him that he can't have Suarez because he's been a real naughty boy and has to stay in!
Wasn't having a go Atleast the 'Getting paid to..' thread has no action on it right now, not unless you count Dev updates as debate
They are both derived from the same root but their contemporary usage is differe....... it was a joke!!!!! And not even true, as I am decidedly sylph-like.
Lol what a touchy bunch, of course it's an "assumption" that he has a buy-out clause. But there's a whole shade of assumptions you can make. Saying that one of the best of the world would ask for a non-astronomic buy out clause to be included in a contract of a club that couldn't even qualify for the CL (while he was there), is on the very safe end of the spectrum.
