Never really understood what people have against cats ? Personally I wouldn't be without one living where I do. A cat will kill all rodents, mice, rats etc as well as creepy crawlies and are extremely clean animals, (unlike filthy dogs) and are forever preening themselves as they hate to be dirty. Not only that, they will stop other cats ****ting in your garden and won't **** there either, well mine won't anyway. They don't take much looking after, all you need to do is feed them and the're happy. Ok, they can be vicious bastards sometimes and will kill birds even if they are not hungry but, hey-ho, you can't have everything !

Mine is actually derived from an obscure comedy show that used to air a few years ago called 'The Mighty Boosh.' In the first episode, one of the characters ends up in a boxing match with a kangaroo and it arrives to the ring in a crate labelled 'Dangerous Marsupial' which I adopted as my name on 606 and carried onto here because I thought it was hilarious, although I was about 15/16 at the time!
I'm a bit of a language buff, so had to look Vectis up. 2 Theories: 1) Vectis is Latin for a level or crowbar, and could relate to the IOW looking like a lever between the 2 arms of the Solent. 2) My favourite: which is that it derives from an Old Germanic/Old English word for a little girl or little companion. The word was adopted and Latinised by the Romans, and ,as what often happens, it got assimiiated into a word, Vectis, recognised by the Romans, which seemed also to make some sense.
Although I am big, hairy, and naturally a winger (or central midfield), my name actually came from a conversation with DHCanary on Twitter, which included me stating I was about to become his #BigHairyStepdad.

On the name front; my current one is fairly obvious. My first name for the Pink un, (until they cancelled all our passwords and I had to rejoin), was 'If I promise to Behave'. I had no idea why I used the name until I mentioned it to one of my brothers, and he said that I always used to say that to them, (I was the only girl), when I wanted to join in their much more interesting games.
