The teams of 1986,90,96 would have won this tournament we lacked a Gerard, Lampard, Rooney, Pierce and vardy(retired too early) would have been great in that team.
I really don't know where this idea of luck comes from. The ball goes where the penalty taker kicks it. The keeper goes where the keeper chooses to dive. Neither of those things are random. They're both skill based.
There is not one of those players you've just mentioned apart from Pierce, I'm assuming you meant Stuart Pearce, that played for England in 86,90 and 96 so what are you on about? Stuart Pearce wouldn't have lasted past the first tackle, he would've launched his winger into row 10 and been sent off, he would not fit into todays game.
Morning. There is not alternative imo. Like it or not, it adds excitement to the game. We normally end up on the wrong side of it like. But deep down, most people like penalties. Only really effects two teams and it's pretty much the only way to settle it. If the news broke they were getting shot of penalties and were going to use lets say the final stats to award the winner, most peoples reactions would be "sounds complicated and not fair". Look at VAR and the debates that has thrown up, "what a ridiculous decision, his knee was offside", aye, so he's offside. People go mental for changes like goal line tech and VAR to come in, then go crackers when it happens. All great points and suggestions made but in the end, it'll stay the same.
