The amount of balls Schmeichel smashed over the top that Beckford should have scored from. Had he got a better first touch he would have more then likely score. Give Beckford a chance and he will put it in the net outside of the area he is pretty poor. He did look dangerous with Nugent in the second half of the season though

I think we have more then enough firepower if Beckford goes Andy King, Ben Marshall, David Nugent, Neil Danns, Lloyd Dyer, Paul Gallagher, Jamie Vardy, Martyn Waghorn, Jeff Schlupp and Marko Futacs all are capable of scoring goals We have players who can chip in with goals
I think there are two sides to the Beckford arguement both of which have been touched on in this thread. I don't believe Beckford wanted to leave Everton and he hasn't performed at maximum ability since he's been here. I also think Sven leaving hasn't helped the situation, although Nige has persisted with him. On the other hand, I don't think the team around him as helped, particularly the midfield. I think it would be best for Beckford's career to leave and get a free start somewhere else, although from our point of view we need to get a good fee, as I think Beckford could do well for someone else, particularly if it's Leeds where he will already have the fans behind him.

Apparently in the Sun today it said Leeds were about to offer 2 million for him......not sure in what currency, could be Thai Baht for our owners, which is probably about a tenner or maybe quid, which I don't think Papa Smurf will want to part with cos it means he won't be able to buy a new boat to park up in Monaco
