The Pedant in me is wanting to ask if that us really four words or five abbreviated :)

I am in agreement at his contribution so far. In asking why it has taken so long, maybe he simply wasn't ready. Rickie was 30 before entering the Premier league stage. You also have to throw in that he is potentially a grumpy Italian and we know how they don't always settle. Having Ron here makes the settling part so much easier.

He doesn't strike me as a grumpy Italian at all. He looks like a guy who wants to please and is willing to work hard. He also looks made for the PL. It's quite possible Italian football didn't suit him.

Italian striker Graziano Pelle certainly doesn't look or sound like a player short of confidence.
The former Feyenoord forward has been able to boast an outstanding scoring record for the past two seasons, while he has also impressed in his short stint in the Premier League since joining Southampton this summer with 5 goals already.
Anyone who saw his fantastic overhead kick against QPR would be able to guess that he is a striker who may be able to put his money where his mouth is - who else would attempt such an audacious goal attempt let alone pull it off?
And now Italian media have quoted the Saints frontman as claiming Southampton will claim a Champions League spot by finishing in the top three, alongside Chelsea and Manchester City, while the player himself will be the division's top goalscorer.
Associated Press correspondent Daniella Matar reported the comments, and with Pelle likely to make his debut for Italy over the next few days, there is plenty of interest in a player who has never really shone in Serie A.
Though it's possible Pelle's reported claims are intended to be taken with a pinch of salt, there is no denying the Saints' excellent beginning to the season, nor can it be said that, if Pelle keeps up his current form, he won't be there or there about when it comes to claiming that golden boot.

So Osvaldo injured himself in training and out for 30 days. Couldnt happen to a nicer guy. hoping Pelle fills his boots with goals.
