He went for the element of surprise, had it screamed into the net we would have been ecstatic, it was miss-hit and looked awful, Lukaku tried a similar effort late on, only an alert Fraser stopped it from being a cracking goal, the margins of success and failure are very narrow, you cannot fault him for trying.

Nothing wrong with going for the surprise element, but there are times when Pelle tries hitting the ball when it isn't under control, resulting in the scuffed/mis-hit shots.

Truly great players make the right choice more often than not. You are right, difficult to knock him for trying, but he does need to inprove his decision making to step to the next level. It is however, his first season in the Lremier League and I think he is doing very well. I'm not bemoaning him, just offering a little opportunity to improve still further.

Agreed. There was a moment in the second half against Burnley where the ball fell to him at a tight angle a few yards out, with (I believe) Mane wide open in the center; if Pelle took a moment he'd have seen that the pass was on, and it would have been a tap-in for 1-0. Instead, he rushed and tried to stuff it home, and got only side-netting. Not bashing him either, but if he took a split-second to assess his options in some of those spots, he'd be monstrous.

Take a second? In the Premier league?

Take a second and you lose the ball.
