NP was a good manager for Hull City, he'll be a success as Leicester but you'll probably need to give him til next season as it's not his team that he's inherited. YES he grinds out 1-0s, YES the win-lose ratio will be good.. in a way he's taken a step back because he'd got us into a very good postion and left.. and as quality as Leicester's players undoubtedly are, you'll just need to be patient. Don't go sacking him at the end of this season if you don't get promoted.. that wouldn't be NP's fault it would be the owners IMO.
so tiger fans, we know that leicester city legend steve walsh is behind nigel pearson and always will be. but who would you like to always behind? and how closely behind? here is my top 5 of people i would like to be behind, sometimes at the kind of distance for a good ogle and sometimes at the kind of distance for a bit of pbc 1. cheryl cole 2. rachel off countdown 3. kylie 4. myleen klass 5. that other lass
I had always stuck up for NP when (the vast majority) of fellow City fans I conversed with slagged him off for being miserable and totally lacking in any sort of charisma etc etc. My point was - and still is - he is a good manager with a good track record and that is what counts more than anything in a manager. The one thing that annoyed me about him was the circumstances under which he left the club. For that I have lost all the respect for him I once had. He will have success in his career, I've no doubt about it. Whether he'll get time enough at Leicester to achieve success there is another matter. But...... having seen the change in footballing style and the amount of goals we are scoring under Nick Barmby...... well, all I can think to say now is 'thanks for the boring memories, lack of goals and the even more boring post match interviews Nigel!' The guy really is Gary Megson crossed with Fat Sam with a chip on his shoulder.
Doesn't it seem strange that only a few weeks ago these exact same threads were being started on an almost daily basis but with a complete role reversal of everybody involved? I've always thought he was an overrated arrogant **** who Hull City would have been better off without, and I'd like to think I'm being proved right. He'll never be a great manager, he'll never even be a good one, he's more than likely already peaked. Winning League 1 on a Championship budget will remain his only achievement.
