What a prick Pat Murphy is. Calling him paranoid (suggested mental illness) is slanderous. On top of that, he's suggested that Pearson needs anger management and he made a fool of him. Completely outrageous, they don't have a clue about the pressure Premiership managers are under. A clear case of revenge from an already sickening industry, and after Pearson has already apologised too. Well done to Nige for keeping calmer this time though.
Pat Murphy turned up because he knew Pearson wouldnt react today, its like hitting a man while hes got his hands behind his back. Pearson didnt say enough to make himself a cock today, not surprising Murphy turned up today to speak for all journo's as the self appointed massiah of journalism.
Pat Murphy owned him. He could come back and own him again any time he fancies, I'm afraid Nige simply doesn't have the tools to deal with him. Still, at least it's kept Twitter entertained for an hour.
You talk **** at times. Pearson was clearly making an effort to stay in control after last night. Pearson would have murdered him otherwise. Murphy was about as brave as a hunter with a sniper rifle going after a pheasant with its wings clipped.
Just watched this and wtf are you on about. Pat acted like a crotchety old man lecturing a teenager, safe in the knowledge that Pearson didn't want to make another scene and Pearson should be applauded for not walking over and nutting the prick.
Do me a favour. PRESSURE? Pressure is not knowing where your next meal is coming from, how you can provide for your family, how you can pay the bills etc. NOT being a premiership manager! It's time someone stood up to Pearson and confronted him head on. Pat Murphy is a well respected reporter who has spoken up in defense of Pearson in the past and who must be astounded that he keeps making the same mistakes time and again. If Pearson gets so wound up he should delegate someone else to face the press.
Of course he is under pressure. The weight of a club and city sitting on your shoulders? People in jobs get under pressure and it isnt enjoyable. I am a teacher who has sats in 2 weeks time and am under 'pressure'. Just because i can afford to eat doesnt mean that i am not under pressure and it is the same for others.
There are many times of pressure, you can't just dismiss it like that. Pearson's failures take place in front of millions of people, who then scrutinise said mistakes, often unfairly so. I personally wouldn't like that kind of pressure. Pearson is always being confronted, whether by the media or by screaming fans. I don't give a **** if Murphy is respected within the media, he acted like a dick today trying to get a rise out of Pearson. What do you mean by mistakes? Are you talking tactically or by speaking his mind? I do actually agree with you last point, and I wonder if the situation has become untenable now. Ferguson, Redknapp and Alladyce all boycotted at least certain parts of the media in the past. I guess it's up to the club.
Being a teacher you have my admiration and respect. When you take a job on you know what the requirements of it are and you do your best to meet them. Failure to achieve these does not mean you should be aggressive, rude and arrogant to anyone that questions your ability. I'm sure that you're not sarcastic to any parents that discuss their child's progress with you?
No and im not trying to come across as a modern day mother theresa for being one either. My only point is that anyone, in any job, or even any family situation, can be put under pressure which really gets under your skin and times. Now imagine that being a football manager with all the millions, being labelling you a ****er for life if you take teams down, reputations ruined, jobs forever getting worse each time you get sacked, millions of people relying on you to deliver the goods... I just didnt understad the point about pressure being about when you cant put food on a table - thats not really 'pressure' but something else
I assume you mean types of pressure? I can dismiss it because it's just a word that people hide behind when they're not performing as they should. We both agree that Pearson should avoid speaking to the media. I'm sure Murphy doesn't give a **** what you think. He was only doing his job. Mistakes - We all make them, the aim is to learn from them. Tactically Pearson has got it wrong for most of the season, latterly he has been much better. I question what sort of mind he has referring to Ostriches?, telling fans to **** off and die etc.
Thanks for the analytical breakdown. Would you care to elaborate on which bits are ****e? As I keep saying, since when is revenge acceptable?
He fukked up Gangsta & his punishment was having that arsehole Murphy land in front of him & goad the sh*t out of him. This is the problem I have with your post. If Pearson struggles to stay in control then that is a serious problem for him and the Club. If he can't hack the pressure of being a PL football Manager then that's unfortunate but all this media sh*t goes with the territory. He knew that before he took the job on.
I think the population of Leicestershire is around 600,000, the average attendance, home supporters, in the stadium is 28,000. I question weather there are millions relying on Pearson to "deliver the goods". My comment regarding pressure is a perspective one, at the end of the day it doesn't really matter if Leicester win, lose or draw at football - nobody get's hurt or dies. If you can't survive financially, emotionally, mentally etc. the consequences can be serious - real pressure.
What tactical improvements have they're really been? We've been playing well all season, it's really only the results that are changing. Face it, most fans only judge on results. We haven't been getting the results, so a certain portion of the fans have heaped unfair criticism on the team. The ostrich comment is metaphor; head in the sand, not seeing what's been happening. The journalist pretended he didn't know what Pearson was referring to. He knew full well - it was a pop at our negative fans. He wanted Pearson to say it so he'd have a juicy headline. And if that was Murphy doing his job, he must have a different one to the one I thought he had. I thought he was a sports journalist, not the head of the disciplinary committee for naughty managers.
By control I meant not speaking his mind. He'd obviously had a talking to, so kept his options to himself today, unlike the cock of journo. Normally speaking your mind would be acceptable, but it was probably not advisable today. Pearson did very well today. Not sure I wouldn't have got up and launched him myself.
Spreading the 3 centre backs, pushing the wing backs forward (thus linking defense to midfield better), bringing in Albrighton (who can cross a ball from deeper positions), attacking from the start of games, playing Vardy in his best position, playing Ulloa.
