He just made the wrong move in going back to Leicester, and the type of club it is now. He'll almost certainly be sacked. He did good things here for me, and I didn't want him to leave, but it worked out better in the end. In fact, it worked out better for everyone except himself. He'll get Wolves or something like that.
He left 2 Blunts for dead with a swift change of gear. Then showed his weak side by tamely shooting instead of either squaring it or rounding the keeper.
Wolves have said they want a head coach figure installed as the next manager, so that would rule out Pearson..
Good shout mate. Can't believe some of you STILL can't get over him leaving! How many managers in recent times have been poached from you. We've had four and wouldn't keep a grudge so long. Anyhow congrats on going up!!
I can only guess you must be pretty insecure about your point if you have to label people who disagree with it as "egocentric adolescent fans". A lot of managers have improved our club and moved on, Peter Taylor to name just one. They earned the respect of the fans not least because they in turn showed respect for the club and the fans .... Pearson didn't. I actually regularly defended Pearson when he was here against attacks by posters who hated his media persona, but because I have pride in my club and its supporters I don't forgive his disrespect. In a nutshell his achievements at HCAFC are part of our history and deserve respect, but the man himself proved to be a **** and I don't remember anyone on here disagreeing with that when he left.
I look at the mess when we were in when he arrived, and the healthy state we were in when he went. That's all that matters- not this ****e about 'disrespect' or 'media persona'. The way so many so called fans rubbish all our past managers is cringeworthy and small time. Says a lot about their insecurity too.
Good point, apart from Rosenior and Fryatt who hardly played - and Brady was a loan who looked half the player under Pearson.!
Okay then " A board who's ambitions are more in line with my own" - in response to a question about premiership ambition.
Surely Middlesborough would be an option for Square Head if Leicester decided to do away with his services. I think they would be wrong to get rid though as I don't see too many better options out there for them
Good job he didn't manage to sign his prime target for his first summer window with us in Neil Danns. Fairly quickly binned him at leicester due to personality clashes. Same story with Beckford and St Ledger - all players who you feel would have helped them win promotion. Funny how St Ledger leaving appeared to be a catalyst for the terrible recent run as well.
Although I doubt he had the backing Bruce has had - perhaps it is that he felt all the youth he was buying needed some experience in on short term deals also. Still, if you can't handle ego's in this game you tend to be left with kids and has-been's with the "right" mentality. I also think had he impressed papa Allam with the budget he had he'd have earned similar backing to Bruce in subsequent seasons. Never happened though, did it?
indeed, and it was reported Solano was on peanuts. We were very close to admin and perhaps liquidation cos without owning the KC, we had no assets to sell. The Allams saved us but Pearson must be given a nod too.
