People on TS saying we would be safe if Pearson hadn't been sacked..

Well we still would have been hammered by Man City .

And our away performances have been awful since the lockdown so not convinced it's so simple.

We have only won once away under Pearson ( Bournemouth) and twice all season ( Norwich)

Which tends to suggest that our rightful place is immediately above those two - and by sheer coincidence...

I looked at the statements when Gracia and Flores left.

Both got a thank you and best wishes for the future etc.

"Good men with integrity" etc .

Pearson statement was nothing like that.

Almost as if he was a bit of rubbish on the floor they wanted rid of.

I bet even Silva got a bit of praise...

Even if you fall out you do offer thanks..... something about the Pozzos regime and its turnover of staff does not sit easy with me.... When Joka got us promoted he was out the door as soon as....

I agree with all of that... however Joka has even less idea how to defend than any of the coaches this season let alone the players. No way he was ever going to get the gig having got us up. I would have him back in a heartbeat for the Championship.

Given the performance against Liverpool when everything clicked and the subsequent "after the Lord Mayors Show" capitulation at palarse, it does give pause for thought as to what exactly has happened since. Yeah we know it was always a trying season but it would appear the squad (Hughes the notable exception) have caught a dose of the bends since that Liverpool performance, rising too far too quickly that evening.

I have enjoyed reading this forum for a number of years, but this is my first post.

Adam Leventhal during Ornstein's and Chapman’s podcast (on the Athletic) said he has subsequently learned from a couple of sources that there was a ‘significant disagreement’ involving both Pearson and Shakespeare with a couple of players at half-time on Friday. This does not confirm the rumour posted by Bolton's Boots, but neither does this comment contradict it.

    Probably Masina I presume!

Troy just said there were no physical altercations but didn't deny a verbal spat.

Must have been bad to sack someone who was a week away from being out of contract anyway and get loads of bad PR

    We will never know
Significant that the Watford website has no mention of his sacking or even his time as manager, written out of history
Must have been a massive bust up

The Official statement says it all!

Very terse words and not a thank you in sight .

An article in a paper today saying that Watford will insist the new manager utilises the younger players such as Pedro, Quina and Suarez if he come back to us
I remember Gracia and Florres were criticised for not playing Sarr

    And Pearson Pedro/Quina.

I suspect they told Pearson and he didn't take it too kindly.
