Nice idea - danger is the results all/mostly go badly for us and confidence ebbs away, with the ever impatient crowd getting on their backs...........on the other hand if we get some results out of the run it could mean the confidence rockets; only time will tell.

Yes because both he and Ellis are trying something different. For years we have watched the same usual suspects coming and going as managers and achieving sweet FA. This season is going to be different. It might prove spectacular (in either a good or bad way) but it certainly won't be at all like any of the last 40+ seasons that I have supported the club.

RAW and Bri --- you really are talking out of your arses, you can't say that it's a northeast thing not to cheer when the teams is rubbish.
The likes of Liverpool and Manu demand success and believe me they give the players stick when they don't put 100 per cent effort in.
Get the team winning and you'll see support here like nothing that's ever been seen before.

    I can and I did <party>

I don't give a **** about football in the north west. I'm sure there's clubs all over the country whose fans have unrealistic expectations but I don't care. This isn't about them is it?

It's easy to support a team that is winning all the time mate..It takes a bit of effort to get behind a team that needs it most..

You've both missed the point of my argument, what I'm saying is that the top teams fans put them under pressure when they aren't winning, which forces the management to do something about it.
If you just keep on cheering even when they are playing badly its just like giving a naughty kid a treat when it misbehaves.
Don't get me wrong, I don't condone booing or anything like that , but for instance in a case like our neighbours up the road, with all their problems, every one of them is moaning about JK and Pardew but instead of voting with their feet, they still go along like sheep every week to the shanty town they call a football ground.

Then you're missing my point mate, and thank for telling me i'm talking out my arse as a result. <ok>

I'm all for venting feelings at full time. A fans voice is important. But to do it when the lads are actually playing? When a new set up in it's infancy is being booed because we haven't hit the ground running in their ideal little universe, to boo one of our own players who's struggling to adapt to a different league and culture, is disgusting. Those fans are the achilles heel of the club and i'll never change my stance on it.

I don't see how saying to a bunch of people that quite likeley often attend home games that 'your support is rubbish' is going to get them to support 'better'.

Quite frankly our fans deserve a ****ing medel for the crap we have had to put up with.

We have now been a top league side for the longest period in most fans lives...I remember times when many of our supporters would have given their right nacker for that..
