I think you missed my point, in his interview on SSN he appeared to be blaming the Dof for his failings.
The links are historical and demonstrate that he accepted the process and indicated that he remained in control of transfer business.
Hope that helps.
Edit:
I've just read your last bit, I am too long in the tooth to hold grudges, I was desperate for DiCanio to be a success at Sunderland, just as I was with Bruce and O'Neill and I am with Poyet. Don't judge people by your standards and try to take a balanced view in discussions.

But just because he accepts the procedure doesn't mean he has to be happy with the results. He never said he had control of transfer business he said he had a part. Which everyone knows. And the quotes I provided you taken from the op, clearly states that the reason he didn't get the players has wants would have to be sourced from de fanti which is fair enough, he doesn't say the reasons are or are not valid. that's in your head. He even admits accepting the players. He doesn't blame anyone, but please, like I've asked, could I have a quote where he blames them?

All it tells me is that the system didn't work for Paolo because he wasn't happy with it's results. That's perfectly reasonable to me. weather it's right or wrong is open to debate but he's blaming no one.

It's in my head? What are rattling on about, you asked Marcus a question, I, quite kindly sourced the answer to your question, you misunderstood my intention, I tried to explain in very simple terms and now you are inventing something to support your argument. Try a balanced view and don't make things up, its much more helpful to a discussion

I have supported my opinion. Please quote me Paolo blaming Di Finti which you claimed he did? Otherwise it's you who is not supporting your 'argument' if that's what we're having.

Fair do about my question to Marcus, which was to Marcus, and I was wrong with it. which I'll admit to marcus when he gets back to me (if that's ok with you?). We're talking now and you're banging on about Paolo pointing the finger at Di Fanti

That was your opening comment to me and the links were unrelated, my post you quoted covered various points so how was I to know which part of my qoute your were answering? You didn't point it out, you were to busy lashing out at Paolo.

I'm trying to put the point across to you that I feel your accusation is unfounded and offered support as to why i think that. Clearly the wires have been crossed but to be fair your point was poorly put. I went on what I had.

Please try to think about what you are saying.

I have never 'claimed' DiCanio blamed the Dof I simply posted two links to answer the question that you posed for Marcus.

I said that DiCanio is doing what he always does, blaming others, I make that observation because of my assessment of his tenure at SAFC, initially I went along with him spouting about unfit players, unprofessional regime, using the media to castigate his players etc. the problem is when you are vociferous in your condemnation of others you need to exceptionally good yourself and unfortunately for SAFC, DiCanio was anything but.
You spend a lot of time on this board, so you must see that thei 'modus operandum' is that someone posts a comment, others agree or disagree and everyone lives happily ever after, however problems arise when posters attempt to twist simple contributions, add comments that were never posted and almost manufacture an argument. Fortunately your not like that are you?
I will bid you farewell now, I am off to babysit my grandchildren.

You said he was looking for people to blame in reply to my comments which were on the subject of transfers, So who is he looking to blame regarding transfers then if not the DoF and his head scout? The Tea Lady? <doh> If you're not going to acknowledge your own comments then I'm clearly wasting my time. I'll read the rest of your post if I get round to it. Chow.

Did I read hear the real reason he banned tomato ketchup was because the players were squirting it into each others pockets?

How funny...............not

I didn't mean to twist your words, you initial post to me was incredibly vague, hardly any words to twist at all. What was I meant to think when your only sentence was: "DiCanio doing what he always did, looking for people to blame." and links to something transfer related? If you're going to cryptic it's going to lead people in the wrong direction. It's crossed wires mate, lets just leave it. Sorry if I offended you fella. Hope the family is well. <ok>

Ps, I still don't know who Paolo is trying to blame <laugh>

I agree with everything DiCanio has said there.
He isn't making excuses he is just stating what happened.
He also confirmed my worst fears, about DeFanti.
People claiming PDC had a say in the transfers are grasping at straws.
He was handed 15 players and told to work with them.
PDC said at the time none of the players he wanted came in and players were going out we should be keeping.
But it seems the still anti-PDC will not believe that no matter what.
We were playing much better football under PDC, all the anti's are interested in are the actual losses and ignore the fact those losses could have been avoided if the overpaid ****e in our team did the basics right.

Me I will look back on PDC as an opportunity lost, to move our club forward and become more professional.

It’s not often I get accused of being vague and I’m not clever enough to be cryptic.

The question you asked Marcus was, “Did he? I’d like to see a source to that quote”, I posted the links which provided that source.

My comment of: “DiCanio doing what he always did, looking for people to blame”. Is not vague it is a forthright statement of my views.

No one wanted DiCanio to succeed at Sunderland more than me, I’ve worked with characters all my service and they interest me, (I even bought two copies of his autobiography), he was a top quality player who said the right things when he came to the club re the fitness regime and professionalism, the performance against Chelsea and the wins against Newcastle and Everton set him up to be a legend. Unfortunately, for many reasons, it didn’t work out.
However what is more concerning to me was his style of management, I have managed staff since 1992 so I believe I am qualified to at least have a view of management styles.

DiCanio lost his way as soon as he started criticising his players in the media, he destroyed confidence by strange selections/ommisions and substitutions and his 4-2-4 formation which aims to outscore the opposition was just plain idiotic and yet he still refuses to accept any responsibility. In my world a good manager is completely responsible for performance and results, there can be no excuses.

Bri, I don’t know why I got involved with this argument, I don’t normally stick my pecker in, but you read something in my initial post that honestly wasn’t there, so I hope this post makes clear my thoughts on the subject, others may not agree with me but I can live with that. As the saying goes, ‘I disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death, your right to say it’ (well maybe death is a bit much but you know what I mean).

By the way, the answer to your last query is anyone but himself.
