Whilst we have Chelsea on the horizon.... Conti and his backroom team reached a £24 million settlement when he was given the hook.

And to think how many great managers we have on here who would love to be sacked for 1/1000th of that..,.

Looking at the article Abramovich has spent an average of £6 million per year for the last 15 years in compensation to sacked managers - clearly more money than sense!

It's funny, but if I was suddenly a zillionaire I wouldn't pay £5 for his boat coz I don't want one.

Even if I won Euromillions I wouldn’t be able to afford the one I would like.<laugh>

Being serious, the running costs are phenomenal, crew, berthing fees etc. You need money to burn. Years ago someone suggested to Richard Burton that he bought Onassis’s yacht which up for sale. He said he could afford the money to buy it but then wouldn’t be able to afford to run it.

I'd happily give up some sense for his money!

If you had his money and ploughed it into City you would still be a **** in the eyes of some fans, The fact you had money would be reason enough for some.

I wouldn't know what to do with such ridiculous amounts.

I'd no doubt just give most of it away.

What a very odd thing to say. Has there ever been a City owner regarded as such solely due to his wealth?

People on here have expressed the view that anyone with a load of money is by definition a **** because to have got the money they must have been a ruthless exploiter of others. Similar views were expressed by some City fans on CI.

I would buy City. The banning list is already drawn up. Those still allowed would approach the Barchullona Stadium along Barchullona Way, having a drink and meal in the Barchullona Suite before taking their place in the Barchullona Stand of their choice. Possibly in a new stadium on the outskirts of Brid. All that is needed now is the money.

<laugh> You've given me ideas. I'd Buy TWS, Hull FC and Rovers, amalgimate and demolish the lot <cheers>

As you will have seen, I would be a low profile chairman.

if I bought TWS I would keep them going but appoint Dolan as manager and make sure they remained in League 2 in perpetuity and exit all cup competitions in the first round.

Sounds good. I'm in. I'll sort the collecting buckets out for Saturday. I'm thinking Flamborough for the new ground location so that cruise ships can dock right next to the stadium.

Being practical, Chazz, cruise ships couldn’t get close enough as it is too shallow. Then you would need a lift to get up the cliffs. Hard to believe my wife accuses me of wasting time thinking about these pie in the sky things instead of practical things.

Did I not mention the cablecar and pontoon landing station to get supporters to and from said cruise ships to the stadium?

The Barchullona Ocean Flyer Experience could be its name.

BTW your missus sounds boring.:emoticon-0105-wink:

Depends. When she is agreeing with me she is wonderful. When she doesn’t that is a different matter.Twice in the last 18 months she has told me I was wrong. It is like it is becoming a habit.

Good job she is more grounded than me. She has had to sort out messes my less pragmatic ways have landed us in over the years on a few occasions.<laugh>
