We now have an AED located in our office building. After a recent staff meeting, I was was somewhat surprised that only a handful of people, out of around 200 (myself included) remained for the 30 min AED/CPR demo, that included instructions to shave the chest of a hairy person to ensure the adhesive pads stuck on properly. "For those who do not know, we now have an automated external defibrillator (AED). It is located at the reception desk on the first floor. For all those interested there will be a 30 minute AED / CPR training session at 10:15am on December 10th following the 9:00am staff meeting." I have been a qualified first aider for the past 12 years and fortunately I've had to treat nothing more serious than cuts and minor burns, long may it continue.
I will add that I get paid an extra 5p an hour for the privilege of listening to people complain about their IBS and varicose veins!
