Football's a game of opinions. Just because their opinions do not match yours doesn't make them ****s, save that term for people who deserve it. Like Harry Redknapp.
Yes PL, football is about opinions and it is my opinion that Paul (cokehead) Merson is a clueless ****.....
Because we're all insane. Clearly. I mean we must be. People right now are watching Match of The ****ing Day just to watch it again and seethe at what Danny Murphy says about us. We're ****ing mental. The game is over, we lost, despite playing well. It may be rough going for a little bit but we're going to do fine. We try again next week. No need for any more of this bollocks.
No seething from me, Danny Murphy was very complimentary, said we were the better team in the second half. Spoilt it a bit by saying we should sell Morgan to Liverpool but hey ho...
A comment immediately picked up by Mark Chapman, where Murphy qualified it by saying Liverpool need a complete midfielder like Schneiderlin. And tbf, he said that the first time around too. [I did check though], not just when he was picked up on it.
He was just being factually correct in the first instance (although we must appreciate such things as it wouldn't register with the likes of say, Merson) Mentioning Liverpool should be looking at Morgan, or somebody suspiciously like him, should be reprimanded and needless to say against BBC advertising policy. An unhealthy trend, that buffoon Schmeichel on MOTD was hawking Tadic, sorry that guy with the "beard" last season to Man Utd
There was a clear difference though. Murphy was simply saying Liverpool needed a player like Schneiderlin in their midfield. He is right they should be bidding for Schneiderlin or someone of his quality in that position but he didn't imply that we should roll over or that he should move or belittling Southampton as a club in his statement. Schmeichel said that Man Utd should buy Lallana and went on to imply that he was too good for Southampton and should move.
Yes, that sort of comment really makes my blood boil. The arrogance of the man. It's that sort of SKY PL mentality that influences me into not having the slightest interest in what other clubs do or achieve. Because to players like Schmeichel, clubs like Southampton are mere cannon fodder. And that's part of what I detest about modern business PL football.
Schmeichel was contaminating the Beeb, as TSS said with Sky style big club monomania. I get your point, but the MOTD pundits during match analysis simply shouldn't go there mentioning any players from rival clubs in this context, even to illustrate a convenient point. They have an outlet for that in the increasing transfer gossip pundity videos on their website.
Before the game Souness was talking about Forster and said that every championship winning side needs a great goalkeeper.Wow, I thought. But he went on to say that staying in the league would be like winning it for Saints!
To be fair, last year's Saints team was quite possibly the best I've ever seen. We were basically playing that team, plus a few other good players like Sterling and Sturridge, yesterday. So even though I firmly believe we have a good side, have made good signings, have a good manager etc It's understandable that we thought we might get beat by Liverhampton yesterday. We were beat as it happened, but they got lucky - bigtime. We surprised everyone (including myself a little bit ), and I can't wait to see more of Tadic and Clyne on that right flank, and more of JWP's awesome free kicks. Even Pelle showed some really nice touches, and we've yet to see Taider, Gardos and the all-new-and-improved JRod this season. COYR!!!
Did anyone see that bit where people sung the MOTD theme tune? With Piers Morgan, Rio Ferdinand, Russell Brand etc etc. I'm trying to decide if that's the worst collection of people ever.
I didn't see it, but it seems to have started off with the correct three if that was their aim! Only need Alan Sugar and Harry Redknapp and you'd have a full set.
If I remember rightly Sugar was with Piers when he was "singing". Naturally, I disagree about 'Arry though.
Yeah, when Gerrard does a u-turn at the last minute and turns down Chelsea he's "loyal"(and it's never to be mentioned again by journalists) but when a player from a team that doesn't have half the pundits and journos as ex-players then that player "needs to leave to further their ambition", or whatever cack they come up with. You can bet if Liverpool struggle this season then journalists won't be throwing the £100mill+ spending in their face and they won't be saying it's the club's fault for selling their best player, as if it's that easy. It's what we got though and no doubt it's what you'll get too.
Through a car window, surely? Actually the thought of Harry through a car window has a certain pleasure to it. All the way through. Whilst it's moving.
