That was a really good half of football from us. Plymouth started brightly with some intricate passing and some early pressure but that quickly faded as we got on the ball and began to get our game going. McKenna has got the lads playing a clear style of football and I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that the speed and quality of our play was easily Championship level in that first half. As it stands, if we don't go up this year, we look like we will be one of the leading teams next season and a team to be worried about
Don't worry SD, gaffer will kill any Hope' with a " the results are going our way quote and it is a good 3 points for us " 30 seconds from the final whistle when the owls score a winner and we concede !!!
A physical presence up front and the strength to hold the defender off to play the low ball across goal for Morsy to score. He's giving the defenders a game, that's for sure. He may not score himself today but he's making space for others to get into good positions.
A string of very polished championship style performances, and outplaying yet another top club, who havent been beat for weeks. While I dont think we will catch up the few points, it is inspiring to feel the Club has been turned into a very professional act now. Just hope we can retain most of these players though the Summer.
I wouldn't worry about losing players, gaffer. These lads must feel like they're at a Premier league team now with the quality of the training sessions, the analysis, the tactical awareness and communication that McKenna has brought to the club. What will be more interesting is who we will be able to bring in because any potential new signing will love being at Ipswich!
