Surely not!! How many full backs do we need. He's nowhere near good enough. If Norwich signed him we'd all be laughing at them
Its a shame 90% of the players linked to us are below average players looking for one last contract. It might be interesting to see how many of these have the same agent as Hughes. Every player under 30 has been good, every player over 30 bar Cisse has been average to terrible.
I think I was stating that at least there appears to be method in what he is doing as opposed to the knee jerk signings last January. Of course I am happy with better quality signings and more speedily provided it is planned and not random pickings. The consensus here is that Konchesky is past his best. Lets hope Hughes is only looking for cover if that is the case. For me, Konchesky always seems to give 100% and that is a good characteristic at least.
I know where you're coming from but Mr Hughes would need to have some serious signings up his sleeve on 1st July to convince me that his plan, beyond surviving relegation, is worth the investment, in both him and his entourage.
I'll go further, I've yet to see anything that tells me, or even hints, that the Manager actually has a plan for assembling a team that extends beyond one that can escape relegation. Have you?
Agree, not seen it yet but actually not worried about that just now. We will see proper news after the Euro's and, as ever, there will be the rush at 23:55 on 31.7.12 just for theatre and to keep us engaged. Keep the faith - we have no choice!
Important point that. Hughes must have the biggest back-room team in the Premier League. It must take some amount of money to keep all these guy's bank accounts ticking over. Value for money I think is all Belfast is looking for. And its a reasonable request.
Am I fu*k. Dreadful stuff. There's some fall out over Keane's comments. Apparently hes all over "The Sun" tomorrow as well. Sounded to me like he was challenging the players to a fight! Bitter cu*t is still settling scores even after 10 years. I can't see any decent Chairman/Owner going near him ever again. Hes a loose Cannon.
They are the worst team in the competition, not a fan of Trapatoni either. If the players aren't there though, what do you do? Keane is obnoxious but to be honest I was referring to the fixtures being published...............
Plan would seem simple enough. Strength-in-depth. Nelsen, Johnson, Koncheski... obvious to us all (including MH) that these are bit part contributors that could well emulate Hill and Derry in standing taller than their original profile had them. Whilst we were pretty thin for recognised quality last season, it was also clear to all we suffered from all the changes and failed to gel soon enough. The turnaround in the last ten games showed we were better than our 17th placing suggested. So the plan has to be what RTID says: build sensibly on the successful foundations laid.
