Perhaps Ashton did not appoint him in November because he was saving him for his new club?

I think I can smell a rat and for me it enforces my belief as to who that rat may be that has had such an affect on Bristol City for many years. To mention his name would be somewhat discourteous but I think he has a Gate named after himself. <doh>

On a secondary note does anyone see Ashton and Pearson hitting it off or will our Nigel eat him alive?

If there is no buy out then this shows that the summers appointment was a farce.
The owners there do not spend money and insist on promoting from youth and bargains. Surely that’s not a million miles from our vision but with a little more funds. So if Paul Cook was not deemed to fit into our philosophy then why has he fitted in with theirs?
If there is a buy out and Ashton is going as CEO then why appoint someone they didn’t see more suited than Deano with no experience.
No doubt he will spin it as he wanted Cook and the decision was not his.
If we haven’t appointed Nige, then the cat here would of got a massive boot tonight.

Paul Cook seems a very decent bloke and I'm sure he'll do a good job at Ipswich. I wouldn't have minded him as our Manager, but our Nige also more than fits the bill.
Another big game tonight, can we continue our unbeaten start under him ?

Playing devils advocate, maybe they wanted NP, or EH in the summer, both would likely be available end of this season, so went for a holding position for 1 season but were forced to act sooner due to circumstances, maybe they even thought that would would be an option if DH failed, which ultimately he did .

I think you may be correct. Howe and Pearson were unavailable for different reasons and I suppose SL and MA could have decided, as long as DH doesn't get us relegated and then we can start again and in the vain hope that he was a success, we've saved loads of money.
