Yeah definitely Pickford's distribution is great and Patterson's is average at best at the moment. Also as Flanders says he could do with being more vocal. I remember reading ages ago when he was in the youth team that was a confident gobby character so probably just a case of getting used to being in the first team and coming out of his shell gradually.
As a Fan, I don't remember seeing anything at all of Pickford, in a Sunderland Side, till he was brought back from his Loan to Preston. But, by then he had been almost permanently on loaned to Clubs, from Conference to Championship level and had the experience of over 120 First Team games behind him. When he was transferred he could be classed as an experienced Keeper, despite his age. (this was all thanks to Kevin Ball, it seems). By then, he had, of course, proved himself in The Premier League as well. Patterson has nothing like the same experience that was given to Pickford. And IF he is transferred, in the relatively near future, that will, I expect, be reflected in the Fee.
Like Patto but keepers need to boss their box vocally and I don't think I've ever heard him in that respect. Pickford goes over the top at times venting at his defenders and I think somewhere in between wouldn't be a bad thing for Patto.
Agreed Pickford can be a bit manic and Patterson is a bit quiet so somewhere in between would be ideal.
