No one would have thought we'd get Ben Arfa.

Entirely irrelevant. Name one manager who would take us.

The only managers daft enough to take the job if Pardew gets the sack so quickly (especially assuming we stay up) will be nowhere near 'good enough', the likes of Phil Brown.

thank **** the chocolate orange is a mackem <ok>

I personally want him to stay for the duration of his contract I think hes actually a very decent manager.
At the end of the day the 2most things mentioned on here the most is what it comes down to - we need stability but Pardew(and Ashley for that matter) will be judged after the summer transfer window.

    Best of luck Pardew <ok>

Hoping that since Pardew is 'Ashley's man' that he will back him properly. MA is a bit trigger-happy when it comes to sacking, using 'fan pressure' as an excuse, hopefully, even if some fans start moaning, he will actually stick up for Pardew.

I'd hate for him to do the classic 'sack him and replace him too late into the transfer window to spend money'. We need everyone pulling in the same direction and even if he is a bit of a puppet, hopefully he's one who will repair NUFC's shattered reputation and re-establish the club in the EPL.

Nothing will ever get changed just by sacking a manager if the investment remains modest
and the squad is so light in numbers no matter how good the first 11 and prospective young
    talent in the academy.

Look at that other alternate reality sport F1 - do you see the team principals, car designers
and drivers getting the sack when the team only makes mid table - no they bust their guts and
move mountains to lever investment from interested parties and get on with it - they don't
all decend into farce and musical chairs for appearances sake and rely on stability as a necessity
to attract the money to improve things.

As much as I think he's a right tit, one thing you have to grant Ashley as much as it hurts to
say this, living within the club's means can only be the right move forwards and tying key players
in the club to a minimum of 5 years contract helps build good foundations and create stability.
It's no accident that the mess this past few years coincides with the new manager every month
style of management. Time to get behind someone (anyone) that wants to dig in and fight for
the future of the club and maybe take them at their face value?

Those that can't/won't have been brought up on the idiom of short term gain for long term pain
as demonstrated by those charlatans we all call politicians

Sacking Pardew would be like shooting ourselves in the foot, he seems to be doing well to me, we are where we expected to be <ok>

I don't know but then I don't every manager that would be interested, even Alan Curbishley is better than Pardew.

This is such a poor argument. No one better than Pardew is going to take this job. you're seriously suggesting we sack Pardew and approach Curbishley? What happens when we realise he is worse? Sack him and appoint Phil ****ing Brown? Pardew is the best manager who is crazy enough to manage us under Ashley, sacking him will do nothing, in fact I'd expect us to go down if we sacked him this year.

Sacking Pardew for Curbishley would start the whole Allardyce, Kinnear etc. thing again.

What happened when Pardew was at Charlton? Oh thats right he took them down 2 leagues, Curbishley did well there, taking them from the brink of going bust to a regular Premier League team. We would get a better manager than Phil Brown.

I'm getting a bit tired of the spoilt kid style reactions of supporters. What did people expect us to achieve this season?

We've lost 2 games in a row, it's not the end of the world.
