JGF2 - Well given that I talk frequently about the 1960's and 1970's then I guess that makes me not that young any more. As for what I do for a living, look at my profile and it will tell you. I'd also add that I've worked and managed people all over the world and have encountered lots of challenges from collegues and customers. In my job I'm known for being approachable, a decent person to work for and for my sound and considered decision making.......perhaps I could teach Sexstone a trick or two such as knowing when someone's time is up ?
"always try to understand or work out what someone is trying to say but defeated on this one!" Thats ok, I was in a bit of a rush when I posted that and to be honest I have never managed to read one of your posts through to the end ever! The 7 year olds will get it though.
OH WELL got that one wrong! age wise ......with your history, similar in many ways I suspect to mine, I can respect your opinions on Sexstone, which will obviosly be different to others including myself. Must also respect the BCFC board, they are pulling the strings and whilst it seems to some they are behind the times or slow in doing things. WE DO NOT WANT A BOARD THAT responds with knee jerk actions...if we had we could have finished up with DJ or MR..... THEY CERTAINLY performed to "sound and considered" decision making!
"WE DO NOT WANT A BOARD THAT responds with knee jerk actions...if we had we could have finished up with DJ or MR..... THEY CERTAINLY performed to "sound and considered" decision making!" What nonsense, we could quite easily be in the position where we had appointed one of those managers right now and had equally won our last 3 or 4 games, the board and that particular manager would currently be being proclaimed as the best thing since sliced bread right now. hindsight is marvellous isn't it! You were one of the loudest and proudest Millen supporters and anyone who didn't share your opinion wasn't deemed worthy of the name FAN in your book. You were quite simply wrong, Keeping Millen was having a detrimental affect on Bristol City and I'm glad he is gone. my only regret is it should have been a lot sooner!
'Keeping Millen was having a detrimental affect on Bristol City and I'm glad he is gone. my only regret is it should have been a lot sooner!' - Spot on - a lot bloody sooner. And that's where the problem is - our board had to be kicked in the balls (5-0 Blackpool) to know it hurts. Like I said Pathetic Sextone.
I agree they hung on to KM for to long, but i don't agree with pathetic Sextone, i personally think the board, and him had there hands tied by Steve Lansdown, the money man still calls the shots, and until he gave the go ahead, KM was going nowhere.
Fans with blinkers on I think Redprintt...lol Fact was, the results were dreadful, the style was dreadful, Millens decisions were dreadful and most of the players looked dreadful under his leadership. Yes, Should have gone months & months ago... Sextone who is Chairman should have grown some and sorted it....
AD - I Agree, there's a first. I 'nailed' Sextone as he is the mealy-mouthed front for Lansdown and the board. You are correct - there's absolutely no doubt Lansdown still, as you put it, calls the shots.
Hi 1For, 'Sextone who is Chairman should have grown some and sorted it....' You're right but he's a 'jobsworth' - scared of his own shadow. You won't agree but I felt the same about Millen when he was No2 to GJ. You know how I felt about a certain player being selected by GJ and Millen just sat on his hands, scared to rock the boat - but as soon as Millen selected the team LJ never got a look in. Millen and Sextone are peas in a pod.
So why does Steve Lansdown escape criticism but Sextone gets it in the neck then? Please explain this weird logic that you seem to be using.
Forgive the intrusion. ****Football club chairman listens to fans SHOCKER**** Can`t beleive you lot are slating him, most clubs fans get pissed off as they feel the chairman/board don`t listen
yobg... what you have to remember is some people need to be slagging off or belittleing someone or something to relieve their boredom, crikey we still have another week before a game
some people need to belittle there fellow fans because they feel they are superior fans. They aren't, and no pages upon pages of predictions and guesstimates will change that.
But NOT the case in this situation......The fans (or the some people as you say) were spot on for slagging off what was a dire situation for our football club. With all the effort that was, to push ourselves up into the championship just a few years ago, then to let that all go with some bad decisions form the board, would have been catastrophic. I really think that if Lansdown was still chairman based here in Bristol, Millen would have gone months ago. Sextone was put in charge (so say) and was there to call the shots. I am sure, had he insisted that Millen was not good enough and something was needed to be done, then it would have been. I really think that it needed the fans pressure to finally get through to his brainless head that something needed to be done. Thank god for those fans. Left to others (and you know who you are), we would be on a downward slippery fall, Just like the Gas.....
I had to smile when i read this, tell me who appointed Millen, Mr Lansdown, tell me who was Chairman when you wanted Millen sacked, Mr Lansdown, i didn't read anywhere where you called Mr Lansdown brainless, if Mr Lansdown was based in Bristol, Millen would have been sacked earlier, rubbish, Millen was sacked when Mr Lansdown said so full stop. And in respect of the fans who wanted Millen sacked, you now think we are safe, well think again, were still on that slippery slope, its not going to be easy to survive, there's a long way to go, fingers crossed, DM does the business and does keep us up.
Spot on AD!!!....... it will be a long road to recovery, I believe we have the man to see us safe & take us forward, only time will tell. P.S. Redprintt's having ago at CS now, who's next in line!
It was called Giving Millen a chance, the fact that he had been at the club for so long, probably thought that he would have learn't something from GJ & the short time of SC. "And in respect of the fans who wanted Millen sacked, you now think we are safe, well think again," answer to that is...Now we have a chance of staying up, where as before it was odds on we would go down. Sounds like that you still felt that Millen could do a job and turn it around??????? That is so funny, I'm just picking myself off the floor! What your saying about SL is quite strange...........if that's the case, then why bother having Sextone there at all......what does he actually do?????
absolutely my point, feeds off the need to continually have a go at someone LJ. Keef, Nyatanga now Sextone..... END OF In security is nearly always obvious when a point is made, and the answer has relatively no connection, or they have not done their home work, or fully understood press releases or interviews: THAT ALSO SEEMS TO BE A TRAIT ON HERE , EG:- what has predictions or guesstimates got to do someone knocking Sexstone or Nyatanga or LJ ? For the record I am nomore superior a fan than the other 10,000 0r so.... I know we get gates in excess of 12000 but a lot of these are away days or pick and choosers
Thanks for the grammar correction. (sums this up really) So, if i have got this right, if you were the one making the decisions we would still have Keith Millen in charge because that is what proper fans do, they just blindly follow what the board and incumbent manager tell them, regardless of how damaging that may be to the club they support and will continue to support long after those particular employees will have left? And to top it off you don't even attend very often!
