Anyone know the best place to park for free? I'm taking my six year old to his first match v the Shrews so i dont want a long walk. Not expecting a big crowd so i'll just use the official parks if i have to. The wife normally drops me off on route to the white rose centre.

Park at the drysalters, treat the little one to a coke and walk down with the fans, its about a 10 minute walk. Cheers bucks, i've passed it on the way to meet the wife but didn't even notice the car park. I might have a run through during the week for a recce.
Do it mate, they have a car park out the back but it probably makes sense to have a plan b anyway
I have parked there many times, it is a good place to park, the parking area runs all round the back from one side to the other
One tip though, if you get there early ensure you park in a place that you can't possibly be parked in. Happened to me once and I was sat there waiting for 45 minutes which I wasn't happy about.
Might still be able to park on Lowfields Road can anyone confirm?

Sorry mate, don't drive so can't give you an answer. Drysalters looks a good bet though. Used to park by the side of the West Stand when I went with my dad as a young 'un about a decade ago, but it was always expensive.
If you're from York, might as well just take the train really? Have a couple of cans on the way down, take the same amount of time and introduce your lad to the magic of rail transport on the way to the footie.
