Which reminds me of the story of a RL fan from Wigan who parked his car in East Hull, only to find it on bricks on his return...Tight bastard didn't want to pay to park it at Craven Park and paid the price....
It's not just in the east. My boss parked his BMW ion Selby Street for an FC match. Never seen it since.
The thought did cross my mind too but then I dismissed it out of hand as impossible. Then I thought, if we were to drop another level and play in front of 6-7000 and renting Craven Park was cheaper then opening the KCOM for every game then the owners wouldn't bat an eyelid before playing there.
Would the powers approve a move to Craven Park...I've got my doubts..Maybe Dean Park could be the ticket....
You couldn't have 2 rugby teams playing on the same pitch given the damage rugby teams are supposed to do to the pitch.
The FA Cup quarter final a few seasons ago, parked down Camden Street just off Airlie Street. Came back and my rear windscreen had been put in, local ****houses had been hoying half bricks at it for a laugh. Broad ****ing daylight as well.
Are there anymore ways tomorrows friendly could have been made more low profile ? I'm sure the club have missed a few. Like not telling us what night the game is taking place or where and who against. Otherwise they seem to have got it cock on and I'm predicting a very low crowd because of the lack of information or build up to this club that has come out of the club. They have released virtually no information about the game at all and nothing about the opposition.
And they're desperately trying to further reduce the crowd by streaming it on Facebook too so you don't have to leave the comfort of your phone screen Marketing CV ? Check
It's a(nother) massive 'own goal'. I know a fair few Rovers fans going to the game - many of them non-football fans - simply out of curiosity. Or at least I know they were planning on going when the game was first announced. Since then - nothing! Marketed right, City might, just might, have attracted a number of new (young?) supporters not yet tainted by all the previous sh!t that's happened in recent times. As I've stated before the size of Craven Park made it ideal for this game. They could even have enlisted Rovers' help as their marketing this season has been excellent for matches and other events. Now they've also gone and closed the North Stand, which is not only a brilliant facility on normal KR match days (live music, family zone etc.) but if managed in tandem with Rovers could've been showcased as a great facility for "wooing" new fans for both clubs. Opportunity missed in my opinion.
Ever parked around Anfield.....Snotty nose kids aged around seven and eight instantly appear the second the car is parked...."Hey mister can I look after yer car," says one while the other holds half a brick.. To which you reply..Go on there. How much?... Its 2 quid..
Exactly. So the consumer has a choice. Pay £2 or £300 (or whatever a panel beater would cost). To be honest I think the Scallies could charge more...
