Parker's problem was our change of style IMHO, SBM. He was extremely effective when his job was to shield the defence and lay it off to either Modric or one of our wingers, under Redknapp.
Villas-Boas requires a bit more from the players in that position and we lost Modric's creativity and didn't replace it, which put more pressure on Parker.
He needed to press higher up the pitch, as I'm sure you've heard about our manager's love of the high defensive line, and be more involved in attacks. Neither suited him.
A lot of Spurs fans are happy to see him go (including me) because he no longer fits into the team and we've signed a suitable replacement in Capoue, who impressed on his debut.
It's not because Parker's suddenly become a bad player, as far as I'm concerned.
