(I presume you mean in the Middle East in general and not the Russia/Turkey 'crisis') What's going on in the Middle East is essentially tribal, they've been at it for a long time, it's their way of life, why would we want to put British lives at risk out there? Leave them alone and they'll all kill each other eventually anyway.
Trouble is if we don't get involved the military/industrial machine misses an opportunity to make wads of cash and Dave doesn't get to look like Billy Big Bollox as a "wartime leader".
