All my partners had been with people before me. That said the most skilled lady I was ever with was 12 years older than me at the time. (I was 20 she was 32).

I can fully believe virgins are overrated based on experiences with experienced ladies.

Depends how you frame it. This school of thought (and the puerile categorisation of Tobes as a racist for having the temerity to link ISIS and Islam) .

I slated Tobes for saying Islam is from the ston age as if it some artifact. because it was reactionary nonsense and it was certainly a general sweeping comment that gathered up different cultures and nationalities and multiple interpretations of Islam and the grey area of how devote people are across the sepctrum into one neat label.

But your hyperbole is more media suited.

She was an awesome, wonderful, kinky lady. Not only that but forwards too... She was the one that asked me out.

After we stopped being "involved" we stayed good friends for a long time and she was a great confidant for relationship advice.

Shame she moved across country or I've no doubt we'd still be friends. Amuses me to think she'd be almost 50 now though.

they did that, or ISIS did what they did, or indeed Catholic priests did what they did, BECAUSE of their religion, per se. But surely we have the right, just as we did when that far-right nut was blowing up gay bars, or when the Bader-Meinhof were blowing up trains, to critique the association of a criminal's beliefs and their actions?

I have two family members who work in the NHS. Both assure me the whole edifice would fall to ****ing bits overnight without Muslim doctors. Indeed, my sister was successfully treated for breast cancer at the Linda McCartney Centre eighteen months ago, by Moslem oncolagists. Moslem professionals are present in Law, engineering, education - well everything, just like Jews, Atheists, Chinese, (some) Woollybacks... A banal point, I know.

But if we are not allowed to link members of a community to that community for fear of offending that community, how are we supposed to make any attempt to understand why it happened? Anyway, if you just close down this discussion you'll just supress it, not answer this. In fact, the discussion will get darker and scapegoats WILL be offered up, so this is all self-defeating.

I'll respond to that with another post just before that, that you may have missed. I don't think anyone wants to close off genuine discussion if that's the aim...

Mate I would agree with nearly all of that except what you said about Tobes. Most ppl who want to spotlight the religion can do so with a genuine and/or critical eye. I think that debate needs to be had. But the rhetoric Tobes uses about muslims on this thread and the nuclear bomb thread on the Liverpool board, it's clear he's already made up his mind and just wants to use current affairs to vent his dislike for muslims and/or their faith. His xenophobia shines through. If you try to engage with him (and even when you don't) his response is the usual "fack off you liberal public sector c*nt"

Don't take my word for it, go check the first few pages of both threads. And now, many pages later he's making out that "all he was doing was questioning the links between thr faith and ISIS" to try and put a bit of respectability to it, yet whenever anyone tried to offer an opinion that didnt suit his agenda he turned into a vile and angry little bigot.

On your overall point I think there has to be a genuine discussion about how/why extremists twist their interpretation of Islam to justify their abhorrent actions. And also to discuss what more muslims can do. I know muslims that I've had that discussion with. BUT if you start that discussion by saying "your religion Islam is somehow responsible for ISIS ", dont be surprised if you get their backs up, which sadly is what's happened on here a few times. And I think one or two do that deliberately.

I find it hard to believe a religion that from day one, spread through violence, is now a peaceful religion.

Wasn't Muhammed head of the Caliphate? Didnt he spend a decade as the leader of the Islamic army and bring war to the middle east. the Persian empire, oarts of India, the levant, North Africa and Andalucia were all converted through force. Later the ottoman empire slaughtered Christians throughout its empire.

As far as I can see, Isis are taking Islam as literally as possible.

The extremists follow the interpretation of the Wahhabism of the 1700s not 7th century Islam. They are only a core, the vast majority are paid fighters not religious zealots. They fight for whomever pays the best and the Saudis pay the best.


Many people got all misty eyed about running off to join ISIS because they thought they were joining an ideological brotherhood where they would have some band of brothers like experience, thanks to hte media

But when they got there they found hardened experienced mercenaries who didn't give a **** about these useless imports, there was no brotherhood or anyof that ****, these arrivals, who didn't know how to even fire guns, were no doubt set to cleaning **** or something else just as glamorous. that's why they came back, others just left IS and never came back either.

It's not what the media make out, some ideological army, that is complete bollocks, if the wages stopped IS would collapse in a month

just been chatting to my mate who lives in London. Stoke newington.. On Friday prior to all this **** he had a panic on the bus home.. 4 Asian makes with beards all sat near but not next to each other.. All holding laptop bags sweating and eye balling each other.. One got up to get off the bus took out his phone then gave the other a look.. My mate panicked jumped up and ran down and got off the bus... He then got home and to see all the events unfold in Paris.

I'd have reacted the same.. Though I'd feel bad for assuming the worst of someone based on their race and religion. But that is unfortunately the situation we have found ourselves in. We seem to be now living in fear. I personally like the Muslim community where I live.. They're all decent people and in no way would I feel unsafe or threatened walking through the area where they live.
