Anita had to start. Not because of what he does with the ball but because of what he does without it. His reading of the game is superb and he's tactically our best player (along with Jonas).

Sissoko was garbage, Tiote tried but ran around like a headless chicken, held on to the ball for too long and could/should have seen red.

I thought Cabaye had an ok game, not great but far from terrible.

I hope they go down, Pardew isn't going and Pardew doesn't understand the derby so Sunderland will always win or draw, got to try and remember this for February in advance of that defeat.

Not going to happen but he needs to understand what the derby means to fans. Two loses on the bounce against the Mackems not good stat.

Pardew's pre match interview was a complete disgrace. He had no passion about anything he said and no belief in his team. It was obvious he didnt think we could win, He might as well of said

I Don't think we will win today, but l have asked the players to try and play some football, if it's not to much trouble. It's windy and raining, which is not very nice because it messes up their new hairdos, but it's only for 90 minutes and then we can all go home and put our feet up.
If these players cannot play for him, for the team and for the fans in the Derby, then we have no hope. Dire

If his team talks are as grey as his interviews, then it comes as no surprise to me that this team performs the way it does. Never said it before, but he really needs to go and take the rest of the so called management with him.

Maybe he had a massive bet on us to get beat to help him pay his debt to Ashley off.

This was mentioned on the way home from the game.

I don't know about that AB, but what l do know is that there is a negativity seeping into the very fabric of our club. For me it starts at the top with Ashley. He has no love for and no ambition for Newcastle. Only he knows why he bought the club in the first place and l think it's pretty obvious that he stays only because no one has made him an offer worth taking.
Whilst he remains at the figurehead his ambiguity will seep deeper and deeper through our clubs veins, poisoning it to the very core. Pardew is infected by it, the team is infected by it and therefore so are the performances on the pitch. No one still believes or cares, except the fans. It's too sad for words, but until there is major change from the top down, sadly it will remain so.

Pards is clueless all the time and now he's got the player's not knowing what they're doing or supposed to be doing.

Sunderland wanted it more today and Newcastle probably got what they deserved from the game which certainly wasn't a victory. Having said that, a draw might have been a fair result.

Good luck with the rest of the campaign <ok>

Last derby hurt because a stuffing came from nowhere. This one hurt because Sunderland were clearly there for the taking once we equalised and yet not only did we not capitalize we transpired to lose the game and didn't do enough to merit getting more from it. If Sunderland had been playing anyone else I think they would have got 1 or no points from the game but they knew they had to keep trying and credit to them they did enough to win.

The disappointment is that this could easily have been 3 points for us but I don't think some of the criticism is fair. If Borini had pinged it into row Z like everyone expected and we'd come away with a 1-1 it would have felt like a missed opportunity but no harm done. After a very shaky start we got into the game and most of the decisions Pardew made had some merit in them (though I said before the game I would have played Anita instead of Sissokho and suspect we would be talking about a better result if we had done) but his options in defence are hamstrung by decisions above his head. As for Cisse, god only knows what next for him...

It must be just me is it? Everyone congratulating the mackems and saying "well done, you were the better team". Were they ****! And even if they were, which they weren't, don't tell the horrible bastards.

Anita could have made all the difference, puts himself about more than any of the midfield today.

Strange to read this board at times. I must have watched a different game. We were poor but so were they. No way we deserved to lose.

All this Pards doesn't understand the derby is bollocks. Its obvious who doesn't understand the derby! The players are on the pitch. Does Pards tell Santon to bottle the first half? Does he tell Sissoko to show no heart or desire? Of course not. We are not that good. The only thing I would say is he needs to bite the bullet on Sissoko and Cisse. Garbage. Everyone can see it. Not the reason we lost, we still had enough on the pitch if they wanted it, but it didn't help
