Its funny how some don't seem to realise exactly what Pearson did for us. He might not have been the media savvy darling some wanted, I liked his "****you" attitude to the press, they're arseholes. More importantly he created the concept of a Fortress KC, and cleared a lot of ****e out, whilst doing a good job with limited resources. Leicester wouldn't have won the PL if it hadnt been for him too. Not that that helps us obviously, but to put him down so much is just bonkers. He's a good manager. Just a bit **** at PR. Or controlling his scumbag son.
So if his goal was to get us up, which I imagine it was, why did he go back to Leicester? If he was confident then he would've stayed, he obviously saw Leicester as the better club.
Hmmm, can you think of anyone at the club who demanded utter subservience and made/makes managers' lives difficult? Your starter for ten, Recaro Boy.
I've posted on here many times - the sole reason he left was because he knew Adam was leaving and he didn't want to report direct to the Allams. He had them sussed long before many of us. FACT.
Behaved like a **** and left Hull City. Behaved like a **** and left Leicester city. Behaved like a **** and left Derby County. The man's a ****.
I'd go with some of that, Happy, but only so far. Brucey turned his players into a winning team and Ranieri did the same at Leicester.
Didn't Nigel's Lester spend the last 2 months of the season winning? Therefore who turned them into a 'winning team'?
17 away matches unbeaten in 2010/11. Club record by miles, and on the back of a disastrously long spell without an away win. But he maintained his terse interview style throughout though.
Leicester's Prem team last season was definitely down to Pearson , he made them ****e but got them on the road to survival when they beat us . Ive always rated NP and i was one of the few who didnt cry like a baby when he left us for the Foxes.
I have some sympathy with Bummers here, I met Nigel a few times and he was completely different when he wasn't faced with a microphone or camera, he was very personable and likeable. I've no idea why he got so twattish when interviewed, but it would probably be a good idea for him to work on it ahead of his next job, or he'll spend his entire career alienating fans and owners and getting sacked. Though I'm still not convinced he can do it at the highest level without the aid of Walsh and Shakespear.
I agree with that Stanners. Fact is though, at both teams, he lay the foundations for the subsequent success, when at both teams, it looked really dire.
Why do clubs keeping employing a pillock like BFS...? Hold on a moment....Might it have something to do with keeping clubs in the prem...Dooooahhhh
I've recalled this story before, I tapped him up at Winterton for an autograph for my g'son before a pre-season friendly, he took 5 minutes to natter with my grandson and myself, grabbing players as they went by to sign g'sons shirt. There was nothing faked or forced with him, he was happy to talk. An ex player occasionally uses my local and when pushed about Pearson he said he, and most of his team mates would have run through a brick wall for him.
I've worked with probably about 10 football managers and his squads, and I've never seen anyone instil complete devotion in them like Nigel did.
