I don't think we've quite got the measure of him yet with regards how he will run the team. He will have to change things slowly, he is following in the footsteps of a very well liked man, we know there was some discord in the dressing room after the sacking of Hughton. Pardew had to win over the players as well as the fans.
He has different qualities to Hughton, he is clearly more comfortable with the media than Hughton, and seems to enjoy the limelight a lot more than Hughton, but the players seem to respect him. The fact he had a prior friendship with Ashley if I'm honest, leaves me slightly uneasy, but I suppose Ashley has the final say no matter who is manager.

 

For someone who came in under huge controversy and knew he'd be under the media spotlight purely 'cos of the Hughton sacking I think he's done really well. The passion he showed when THAT equaliser went in showed he really is up for this job and loves it. I said it ages ago and I'll say it again, I think he also realises this is the biggest job he's had (with no offence meant to WHU, S'hampton etc) and wants to really succeed here.

Also, what's wrong with him being on good terms with MA?!?! Jesus, if we've found a manager who MA is willing to back financially then what the hell is wrong with that?!

Tbh, the more "oh dear" post was the last one. Having to actually consider whether or not Cwarr was correct

Not a clue. Though were we altogether disappointed with losing Nolan anyway? I never was really worried about losing him, not quick, wasn't scoring since we sold Carroll, and wasn't very skillful. Can't remember the general consensus though.

 

Think people were mixed, I know I was disappointed just glad I was proven wrong.

Wow I can understand every word you said, I didn't know my French was still working.

 

If enough people want it closed it won't be a problem. Let it go a little while longer and see how it pans out.

 

Well, we've had all sorts of gaffers, the only one that is going to count is the bloke who brings home the bacon! Pard's has made a canny start, lets see what the new season brings. He has a plus, doesn't swear at the press like Jokin'ere! At the end of the day if Ashley's man gets a good crack at the title and other pots, then nobody can complain.
