from the interview i saw it came across to me as pardew hoping one of his future/current buys to become a *superstar* not go out and buy one

saying that wor fode should be back from injury this month coinciding perfectly with our injuries to our wingers

As Long as we're doing well, why would he?

I understand Ruiz choosing Fulham and Gervinho choosing Arsenal - they looked far more settled and have European football. In heinsight for Ruiz at least, it's maybe not his best decision ever!

Someone on here said we're 5 wins away from safety...If we could get anywhere near them whilst still in the transfer window then there's not many teams (in and around us) in a better position to bid!

As for a superstar...I'd love it to be a young up and coming player.

Lukaku/Hazard-esque...A real statement of intent from the club, showing we can still mix it with the big boys (but still building for the future)....

Either that or continue with the 'unknowns' who fly under the radar of everyone else...People are still writing off Cabaye and Tiote, despite them demonstrating their class on and off the pitch!

    Jelle Hazard*

Note: Need to black mail them into a same sex marriage and also force them to agree that they want to sign for the same club. Carr can tell them how well his son is regarded and bingo!

Problem is lukakuand hazard would cos atleast 18-30m each and would probably be on a wage we couldn't afford. In terms ov buying a superstar we should stay away from players of that caliber I'd prefer we go for the big players who are being frozen out at the clubs but still have potential. Drenthe is an amazing player and he was frozen out at real and at everton he's doing great and still is young, van der vaart cos less than 10m and is a genious and once again he was a player frozen out at real. Huntelaar, podolski they would be the type of players I'd look at, players with world class quality who have a point to prove and won't demand huge wages, cost a lot and probably won't move on as quick as say eden hazard would.

I'd prefer we stay away from the players who are favourites with the british press because there are better players out there, look at tiote and cabaye noone had ever heard of them before but tiot in my opinion is the best dm in the league and there isn't many more creative cms than yohan cabaye. Both of them were unheard of and therefore didn't command a huge fee, we should stay away from up and coming stars who are household names.

I'm all for raiding the French league, its proven very lucrative for us so far but I can't believe how overlooked the Russian league is.

There's a wealth of untapped talent there.. E.g Welliton FFS!!!! We need that sexy motherlover and he fits our blueprint.

Lukaku on loan til the end of the season? Not going to ACoN

then have a proper look round for quality next summer, I'm not a fan of January signings, especially foreigners who struggle with the cold & conditions though things maybe different now that we won't be training on a pitch under 3ft of snow now undersoil heating in at training ground.

Technically not able to loan Lukaku as we'd be his 3rd club in a season.

You sure? Seen a lot of talk about him going on loan elsewhere, is it not just in the transfer window? I'm sure I saw something on BBC gossip that someone was after him in January on loan, could be wrong though.

Hopefully he means someone like Ben Arfa should step up, I don't want another Kluivert!
