But Pardews original statement was that the club had offered him an improved contract, I'm sure Pardew described it as "fantastic". Enrique then felt he had to come out on twitter and deny it! Enrique told us that the club were lying. Do you not think this made Enriques mind up about moving to another club? Epecially showing the lack of ambition to match his own. I certainly do.

You may be correct, but all I can find is this .. which is a touch ambiguous ..

“We have been waiting to see his representatives, they are due here in the early part of next week.
“We are going to make Jose a very, very good offer and we are hoping he is going to accept it.
“We are realistic about Jose, because the ball is in his court on that one, not in ours.
“He will be offered a fantastic contract here, he knows that, but still it is going to be down to his decision. I am still hopeful.”

Alan Pardew.

I can't put my hands on anything advising they actually offered him this fantastic contract or not or whether twitter came first and everything broke down ..

Things will have to get a lot worse for Pardew to walk in my opinion. He's got a job managing a Premier League side, which must pay pretty nicely, and if the team manages to maintain their current form for a decent amount of the season then his reputation will take a great increase as well.

Actually propaganda had been going on for hundreds of years
Shame some people still don't know what it is

Sorry .. you must have misunderstood .. I'm well aware of what propaganda is (you've been peddling your pessimistic version for a few days now) .. it was you I was referring to as the tool .. not the sensible looking chap on the 'dummies' (also very relevant to you from what I've seen) book

Oh dear, i must be arguing with Stephen f**king Hawkings here

You do realise, where it says 'Location' on your profile, well that isn't a question

Just thought i'd point that out:grin:

no, but it is the same principle. I was trying to put that across with dramatic effect

Use the Wall Street Banker walks out leaving businesses up **** creek analogy, leaves less chance for people to go all pedantic with 'but my life is at stake in your example'.

Does anyone else think that this could be a publicity scam? Spread rumours about Pardew leaving so that we side with him and forget our annoyance at no-striker-gate?

Just a thought.

Ooer a conspiracy! This raises the image of Mike and Pards sitting in Mikes office enjoying a glass of the 1926 Macallan Fine and Rare Collection Whisky Mike recently purchased (circa $38,000 a bottle), while chortling about the lack of a striker option. (at this point I wish I had the skills to do one of those animated things!) Maybe Alan is out of shot down to his shorties in those recent embarrassing pics of Mike.

<laugh> .. that does of course depend on how you interpret the empty space left after the colon .. my assumption was that the DB designer didn't know where I was located and thus 'asked' through the use of this for me to fill in ..

Of course you've been much funnier in your response to that errr .. not sure how to finish that .. can you help me out?

So every form you fill in you expect it to look like -

Surname?
Forenames?
D.O.B?
Experience?
Next of Kin?
Results?
DD Details?
Add. Info?

TGR is in fact correct in what he says .. I had to poke around before conceding defeat to his unusual defensive tactic .. the closest understandable description I found to explain this quirk of the English language was this

"The colon is used to indicate that what follows it is an explanation or elaboration of what precedes it" ..

So as the entry is Address: it is not in fact a question .. merely a reference that requires additional information to make it useful ..

I am at fault for following this with "What a dull question ..." in my profile ..

Here endeth todays lesson ... <ok>

Those are your details, you HAVE to fill in

It isn't a question, or there would be a question mark after it

Which is why there isn't question marks when you're filling in your profile

You weren't top of the class, were you?

Yours says Hell, so you're either; a young teenager, A mentally disturbed person or a gaming geek with no friends. I am in no way saying you are these, but it is an assumption from what you said your current location is. Saying you're from Hell means we can't really take you seriously, because of the immaturity you portray through something so simple.

Since when has anything you said (whoever you are) have any relevance to me whatsoever?

You can make all the 'assumptions' you want, i really don't care

It does seem you are a bit of an expert on the subject though, with that in depth assumption
