This in my mind. However... my thoughts are.....

"You dont buy tickets to a show unless you know who is in it"

Thus, wait and see who we sign.... THEN buy your season tickets!

Expect nowt and get nowt. If Pards is still in charge it'll make no difference who comes in, he'll have them playing the same old rubbish that we've had to put up with all season.

No ST for me I'm afraid, I've had it with all the crap, there's just so much you can take.

If mentally we could do that, fine. But we can't - we actively hate the club's owners and the way its' run. It's not possible to just shrug and say "ah, well, we had to offer Shola a new contract" and enjoy it. Football is entertainment, we are not being entertained at all and until we are, either by ambition or performances, the mindset will not change. Three options - either the club does something and we do get a modicum of hope, the club does nothing and you/I/everyone carries on hating it and letting it get to us, or we just give up. I'm 80% on the latter.

The club are due to release a statement today saying Pardew will remain our manager and what their intentions are going forward (accoring to most local journalists). I get what you're saying, it does take the topic of conversation away from Pardew but if he's remaining we start this season with a fresh outlook for me. As fans, we've voiced our opinions at games loud and clear lately but Ashley has decided to stick with Pardew. Next season we need for the first half of the season go easy on Pardew provided he gets the players that are needed. Most of us are of the opinion Pardew isn't up to scratch, most of us also know he's been dealt a bad hand by Ashley this season. If this transfer kitty does exist and a good number of quality players are brought it then this season really would be Pardew's last season to make a mark.

I'm not saying I rate him as a decent manager because I don't. However with a decent squad and no European games we finished 5th. With no Ba, a few injuries and Europe we finished 16th which was his poorest season for me. You then have this season, for half a season, with a good squad and no injuries we did well. In the second half we lost our best player and Remy played about 5 games, it was very poor from Pardew and his back room team. So if (as is looking likely) Pardew is kept on and backed financially we shouldn't be looking to hound him out IMO as he's done well with a decent squad and no European games before. His domestic cup record is a shambles and needs improving. If we're only going to sign the bare minimum again then Pardew should go as he's proven he can't work well with a small squad (not many managers can, but Pardew is just incapable of getting the extra 10% out of a limited squad in the way some managers are).

Bottom line is he's staying, it's looking like he'll have his biggest transfer kitty to date so lets get back to supporting the team rather than not supporting the manager. If he gets all these new players and still has us getting thumped by three or four goals regularly, with us languishing in the bottom half of the table at Christmas then that'll be the time to again voice our opinions regarding his ability (or lack of).

It's not a case of me falling in to the trap of false promises, it's just a fact that he's staying. It looked like at the end of this season with a bit of fan pressure he might get the sack, this hasn't happened so anything but support for the first 6 months of next season will only have an adverse affect on the players.

£60m or not I'd like to see Forster in.
Ruddy in if selling Krul to raise more funds.
    Richards
    Lescott if not Caulker
    Cresswell
    Colback
    Cabella
    S. De Jong
    L. De Jong (give him a chance in a more confident and creative team)
    Gomis.

If we can pull it off then forget De Jong or Gomis and go for Lukaku even if it is just a loan

I know that's at least 9 in but one is here already, some have premiership experience and in terms of finance 2 of them are "free".

Only 2 strikers in but I'd like to see us play 4231 so only need 1 striker and Cisse is only out for a few months and, like de jong, may score in a team that can create something.
Richards can provide competition for right back and could do a job at centre half. If Debuchy leaves then someone like Richards becomes a must and then get a back up RB (Trippier)

We all know planned signings are great..... but it's that elusive line which will trip us up again.

Worst case if Pardew did stay....

1- The protests may force Ashley to spend more than he had planned
2- It removed the last Pardew excuse of 'limited squad depth'.

Basically It has to be the last chance saloon... if Pardew continues to fail.... even with a 'new' team..... there will be no hiding places.

I should be rubbing my hands together but even this isn't getting buzz back. I'm waiting to see how much we actually spend and who we bring in.

Excellent counter-argument. Agree that it's a 'win win', really. No investment and Pardew still there will result in him being pushed out eventually. Investment and Pardew at least offers hope. Trouble is we've now got to spend 3 months moaning about players.

Looking at that we've spent around £136,329,600 since MA arrived. We've sold more than that, leaving us with a net spend of -£37,963,200 - but who suggested the £60million or whatever we do spend this summer will be net? I agree though that it is seriously unlikely that we are going to do anything with even a hint of ambition. I'd imagine taking into account the Cabaye figure and any further outgoings over the summer our net spend will likely be close to £0.

£60m sounds like chicken feed when other clubs are prepared to spend £180m.

Billionaire owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha says he will spend £180m to help Leicester challenge for European places.

60m in Ashley's world = 22m when you strip out all the agent fees and wages.

It will be a very poor summer and even
If we spent big under pardew messi would look out of his depth

Spending money willy nilly does not guaruntee success. Leicester will find it hard to be in the top 5 even when they spend £180 million. The problem that they will find is if they do spend.... and get into Europe (highly unlikely) they will be boshed with the FFP rules.

It can not be a quick fix now. That is what the powers that be are trying to stop.

If it had been implemented 7 years ago then Mn City would be mid table ****e like the rest of us.

The point on us is that the lack of investment annually means he needs to spend £60+ million just to get us back to where we where when we finished 5th.

I very much doubt we will ever get that high up the table again.

Assuming there is £60 million and it's spent properly. Knowing us we'd blow that much on absolute crap.
